Ince : Carling Cup Is A Good Bet For Europe

Paul Ince feels that the Carling Cup is a competition we can win. With the big 4 tending to play weakened teams and Rovers playing some good football this season their is a good chance he is right.

However, to do this we need to be more ruthless. The football has been pretty but the results need to go with it - starting now. If performances = results then we would be in the top 6 but as we all know it doesn't work like that.

However, Ince feels that confidence has not been affected by the loss of form and feels the Carling Cup is the ideal place to pick up again.

Ince, speaking to Rovers.co.uk, said: 'It is a big match as the winners reach the quarter-finals.

'Then you can start thinking about claiming the trophy. A win would also set us up nicely for Saturday.

'It is important to us to have a good cup run, be it the Carling Cup or FA Cup, as it is an avenue into Europe.

'We may not have won for a few games but the confidence has not been affected as we are playing good stuff.'

I have always been of the opinion that a good cup run actually HELPS league form, ocne you pick up the winning habit then it is hard to lose.

So come on boys, show us you can put 2 and 2 together and get us the results we want to see and I feel we deserve.

I feel tonight is a game we can win but only if we take the chances we create... come on Rovers.

Win tonight and we'll REALLY start beleiving we can do it. Like you say though Mr Mikey we MUST take the chances we get tonight, and I'm sure we will get a few.
