Rovers Legend Back At Ewood!!!

Blackburn Rovers legend Matt Jansen has returned to Ewood Park in a final throw of the dice to rebuild his injury plagued career.

Jansen hasn't played a competitive match for almost three-years, with his last Premier League match being for Bolton Wanderers in April 2006. However, the 31-year-old (who has never ruled out returning to the professional game) is back training with Rovers in a final bid to rebuild his career, which was never the same after a horrendous motorcycle accident in 2002 just as his career was fully taking off. Rovers chairman John Williams insists that the agreement if very informal and very relaxed with no deadlines being set.

Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Matt is training at the club but it is a very casual arrangement. He wants to see if he is capable of making another go it and we are delighted to help him."

Allowing Jansen to train with us leaves us in a win win situation as if he can prove that he can still cut it then he won't cost us anything and wouldn't be asking the earth from us, if not then at least he will know that his career really did officially finish at the club he has had his best years.

Good luck Matty, we'll all be rooting for you but I must admit it seems like it is going to be to much of a fairytale to come true, but if it did WHAT a story it would be!!!

I am a romantic and I would love nothing more than for Jansen to make it big again. I feel the club is showing a lot of loyalty to Matty as he views this club as his home, Williams deserves praise for looking after one of our own. I dont care if it doesnt work out - Matty is a legend and deserves a chance to show he can do it. Come on Matty!!! I believe in you!

Nice of the club shame it probably won't work out for him at Blackburn what a legend, did score on Mark Hughes debut so maybe has still got it.

He's clearly not going to play for us again, but its great to have him back around the club again, what a guy!
adrianbrfc
Great to have him around, surely though, he can be more useful then fowler lol

Bless you Matt. Very best of luck. Hope it works out for you, welcome home.

This is super news. Like Mikey I'm already seeing the headlines "Heads Matty Wins" after nodding in a last minute winner on his return! If only. It is great to see the club supporting him and maybe he can re-establish a new role as a creative midfielder? I wish him all the success in the world

I think we all agree that reagrdless of what happens he is welcome back whenever he likes.

Good luck Matty - I hope it works out for you. If not maybe a coaching role will be offered to him.
