'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Brown Thrilled With First Start

Jason Brown was thrilled with his first start in the English Premier League for Rovers in their 2-1 win at Newcastle United.

The Welsh stopper told Rovers.co.uk - 'It was unbelievable, it was the first time in a game that the hairs on the back of my neck have stood up.

'It was great experience for me, it was a shame for Robbo that he has his calf injury, but I've come in and I just want to do the best I can.

'It was a great win for us, a great team performance, we all stuck in there and got what I think was a deserved three points,'

Brown to be fair has been very patient for his chance. He spent 2 and a half seasons
behind the never injured Brad Friedel and didn't moan once.

He had waited a long time for that and I thought he put in a commanding and assured performance.

Seems like a nice genuine lad. Hopefully we'll get many a performance like that out of him.

Yeah I like this lad, looks a good keeper. Delighted that he didn't have a mare either so that should give him confidence and push Robbo hard for the No.1 Spot.

so is he your first choice now, has Robinson been sussed?
merlin
No Merlin, Robinson is injured. Both keepers are very solid so we are in good hands in my eyes.
