Rovers Trio Handed Ireland Call

Blackburn Rovers have had three players called up by the Republic of Ireland for an International friendly with Nottingham Forest!!!

Keith Andrews, Keith Treacy and Eddie Nolan have all been named in Giovanni Trapattoni's squad for the friendly (which has been arranged in a hurry) with the Championship side on October the 9th, as the Italian takes a look at alternatives with a World Cup Qualifier with Cyprus the week later in mind. Treacy and Nolan are regulars in the Under-21's for Ireland but Andrews hasn't previously been named in the senior side.

Good luck to all three of them. At least Trapattoni must be impressed with Andrews even of some others here aren't!

Its a bit of a joke really with regards Andrews as he wouldn't have got a sniff if he was still at MK Dons. Cant wait to see how the other lads get on (if they get a chance)

I didn't realise Forest had international status these days

Apparently they do! What a strange game to have. Fair play to Andrews, Nolan and Treacy they have earnt their call ups. And fair play to Andrews, it is alright for some to say that he wouldnt get a sniff at MK dons but how many england players are in the squad because of who they play for!?!?
MikeyGamst
That wasn't a swipe at Andrews it was a swipe at Trap, if Andrews is good enough for Rovers after three appearances than he should have been good enough at the MK Dons.
durks de rover
he was so good even though half the squad in injured he still hasnt chosen either of the 3..says a lot
