Williams Confirms Villanueva Option

Williams Confirms Villanueva Option

Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams has confirmed that Rovers have a £5 million option on loan signing Carlos Villanueva.

Villanueva is on a season-long loan deal from Audax Italiano, and as long as we take up the option to buy him then we will be able to without competition. However, we must agree to this by January.

Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph: "We have an option to sign him permanently and it is an irrevocable option.

"Audax Italiano have agreed a price and a deal with us and likewise a contract has already been agreed with the player. The situation is entirely down to Rovers.

"He would ultimately cost us almost £5million and we will exercise that if we want to.

"It has to be done by January but that gives us plenty of time.
"

The 22-year-old has already become something of a Cult Hero, with the Chilean International already saying that he wants to stay at Ewood Park. Paul Ince is also a fan of the midfielder.

Ince added: "He is a terrific player and the players all rate him highly at the moment.

"He has certainly got something, which makes him a crowd pleaser
."

From what I have seen on Villanueva so far I would be bitterly disappointed if we didn't sign the dude.
