Bentley Not Happy With Spurs Role.

Bentley Not Happy With Spurs Role.

Interesting news filed in the 'I told you so' file...

David Bentley is unhappy with his role in Tottenham coach Juande Ramos' new look Spurs side.

Bentley has been asking to play in his standard right midfield position but has been deployed on the left as well as in a central role as Spurs look to accomodate expensive names in their side.

At Rovers, Bentley was guaranteed a starting spot on the right and was guaranteed his England spot. Playing games and playing well is more important to Capello than playing for a 'big' club.

Now Tottenham are a side on a par with ourselves. I am not talking about club size etc... like most idiots do.

The difference between the 2 sides in terms of quality is very little.

Bentley thought otherwise and at the moment he is being shown that he was wrong. Tottenham have made a poor start to the season and Bentley is suffering.

I am sure spurs will pick up and hit the top half but this is a timely reminder to Bentley that the grass isn't always greener.

Don't moan David, it was your choice.

I know it is early days but Bentley will find it tough at Tottenham with so many big names over there. He can't moan when things don't go his way... because they won't all the time. Oh and calm down Spurs fans... its just a quick jest.

why doesnt he ever learn that the grass isnt always greener on the other side

Good serves him right, went their to get in the England team and won't shows everyone he should have stayed here. I suspect he lead a life back into gambling again moving into London like earlier in his career.

Dunno mate... we always use to stick up for Bents but he has shown over the last 6 months that his arrogance and selfishness is astonishing. Its a shame as he is a good player.

I am so glad he didn't come to Villa. Last thing a club needs is a selfish player.

Like you say Mr Mikey, it is early days but so far it is a bit of "I told you do" isn't it! What was I saying before he left "the grass isn't always greener!"
22/09/2008 18:01:00
No... its a deep shade of brown.
22/09/2008 20:06:00
I see some irony here... didn't he make a bold decision to leave Arsenal for Blackburn? Then, the grass was found to be greener.. You can't always make the right one but you at least sometimes have to make a decision.. I think you guys shouldn't berate him, he was a star for BR. I will back both Keane and Berbatov, even though we are weaker for them leaving.

what did we all say?????? David my boy you had it great with Rovers and u blew it!!!!! I hope u haven't got a tendancy for piles cos with u gettin booed every week and the likes of Modric, Huddlestone etc on the bench at the mo i cant help thinking u might find urself warmin it over the winter months!!!!!

Fedz - he left Arsenal to play for us because he knew he needed games. He left us for Spurs because he thought he had "outgrew us" and was "too good" for us... We all said that Bents didnt realise what he was leaving behind, and so far we have been right.

Irish Eyes Are Smiling

Blackburn`s game against Doncaster had already been called off. If it hadn`t, it definitely would with the Republic of Ireland`s decision to include two defenders in the final squad.

No Tippy-Tappy Performer

Bradley Dack has proven plenty of ability on the ball and has a keen eye for a goal, but the former Gillingham man has also show he's physically able and willing to get stuck in.

Modest Marksman

You'll not find many who haven't been impressed by Armstrong since he came to Blackburn. The on-loan Newcastle forwards goalscoring exploits speak for themselves.

Different Date Same Outcome

International call ups for Leutwiler, Mulgrew and Evans, along with provisional calls for Lenihan and Williams mean the trip to Doncaster has changed, the hoped outcome wouldn't.
