Ince's Newcastle Odds Slashed!!!

Blackburn Rovers manager Paul Ince on Thursday drastically had the odds on him becoming the new Newcastle United manager slashed.

Only two-and-a-half-months into a three-year deal at Ewood Park and Ince is already being linked with another Premier League job, with his odds slashed from a rank outsiders 66-1 to 6-1 with it understood he is a strong (if not surprise) contender for the post, often dubbed a poisoned chalice!!!

I have NO doubt that there are plenty of Rovers fans who would welcome Ince departing Ewood already as some haven't (and from the looks of it?!?!) never will embrace Ince, however, with it being us that gave him his break in the Premier League it would be a major surprise if he left for St James' Park. It is understood that his relationship with his former England International team-mate Dennis Wise (who has a MAJOR say on what happens with Newcastle) is the reasoning for his links to the vacant job.

Personally I am one of those that IS backing Incey to do a superb job at Ewood, and continue the work that Mark Hughes had started and can't see him risking his reputation by jumping ship so soon into a contract with Rovers, where he has complete control over transfer dealings (assuming we can afford the players involved) whereas at St James' this is something that has been the subject of much debate as Wise (and others) seem to do the buying and selling and the manager just deals with what he is given, or sees taken away!!!

However, Incey has today told of his commitment to Rovers.

Ince told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: "As I said at our pre-match press conference earlier today, I cannot control media speculation and nor do I normally choose to comment on it.

"However, I feel I owe it to the club, the players and the supporters to say that I am very happy at Ewood Park.

"I am only a few weeks into the role and I am thoroughly enjoying the experience.

"My only focus is Rovers and getting on with the job
."

This ISN'T going to happen is it, but if Incey were tempted then he'd be making a huge mistake as the job with Newcastle is one of the worst he could leave us for!!! He won't though anyway, and with what Incey has said anyway that SHOULD be that!!!

Isn't it ironic that Hughes wanted (allegedly) the newcastle job and wasn't considered, now our new boss doesn't want it and is considered!

I think it's a bit wierd that Newcastle have wanted to sign our last three managers. They got Souey, they tried to get Sparky and now they're allegedly in for Ince. But I'd be shocked if this move went through!!!

They can't think for themselves spinaker hence the turmoil at the club. It just heightens the embarrasement for them. Although not enamoured with ince early doors if he left it would send the club into a right mess so we should stick by him and he should follow suit.

Never gonna happen. Ince knows he is on to a much better thing here.
