Fowler Deal Finally Agreed?!?!

Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams has revealed that a deal has been agreed with Robbie Fowler to bring the veteran to Ewood Park on a short-term pay-as-you-play deal.

The 33-year-old striker had previously rejected a pay-as-you-play deal (with it understood that the Liverpool legend then looked at his options, including a move to Norway) but Fowler has now accepted a deal with it expected that the former England International will sign the deal by the end of the week and could even be in the squad to face Arsenal (a club he loves scoring against!!!) on Saturday.

Williams is quoted on Sky Sports as saying: "We have agreed in principle a three-month pay-as-you-play deal and we hope to have it tied up by the end of the week.

"If we go ahead on that basis and get it registered then if the manager wants him he would be able to be in the squad against Arsenal on Saturday.
"

IF this deal is happening lets get it done, if not lets stop wasting time!!!
Walker
pay as you play? Good job he's not desperate for cahsh!

This is a win win situation for Rovers. If he wants a longer contract then he has to play out of his skin for 3 months and if he doesn't then its bye bye Robbie. On a lighter note i see that Setanta are linking Ince with the Newcastle job

I can't see him playing that much. However, as it is a pay-as-you-play deal, and he cost nowt, not a bad deal. Good 'coach'/mentor to have a round for the youngsters, I'm sure. I read something about Ince to Newcastle.

It's a win win situation for us really isn't it. If he plays then he will be looking to stake a claim to play more, if not we lose nothing. Completely agree about the mentor for the youngsters, even some of the senior players!!! I've seen some things about Incey and Newcastle, but its not that likely is it?!?!
Walker
I read that John Williams and the board have said Ince wouldn't be tempted by the job...
