Griffiths Set For Another Loan Spell Away

Blackburn Rovers youngster Rostyn Griffiths is going out on loan once again.

The transfer window may now be closed but the Football League loan window re-opens on Monday and Accrington Stanley have already agreed a deal with Rovers to take the striker on loan. Griffiths (who had a spell on loan in Scotland last season) played for Accrington during the week in a reserve match, and scored in a 5-3 victory over Macclesfield Town. The length of the loan with the League Two club isn't known at the moment but first-team football can only be a good thing for him.

Meanwhile Rovers look likely to miss out on the signing of Alvaro Recoba, as Greek club Panionios are understood to have agreed a deal with him.

The 32-year-old FREE agent (having left Inter Milan) had been mooted with a switch to Ewood Park but the Uruguayan International appears to have signed for Panionios.

A statement on the Official Panionios Website read. "Panionios confirms that it has come to an agreement, in principle only, with footballer Alvaro Recoba.

"We hope to finalise and announce the player`s signing with our club in the coming days.

However, Robbie Fowler is understood to be on the verge of signing a one-year deal with Rovers.

Personally I can't see Griffiths making the breakthrough with Rovers, but to have any chance at all going out on loan once again will at least give him the chance to play some first-team football and be assessed by the Rovers coaching staff to see what he can do. As for missing out on Recoba, he has been a superb footballer but it isn't going to be the end of the world because we have.

True about Griffiths but it is SAD that MCARTHY claims he was fit and this SAD manager wants to bring Fowler..is Ince arrogant and naive or what?

Let him go, don't think he's up to it either.................OZ, McArthey was overweight when he returned this summer and he's made no physical effort to improve this!! In fact the only effort that he hasd made was to tout himself to any team that takes a glimpse at his fat, lazy ass!!!! He can go too!!!!

Even if he doesn't make the grade, sending him out on loan advertises his talents and gets him some pitch time. He should link up well with clarke. I hope this is a sign of things to come our kids need to play real football, not elephant gravesyard league.
