Derbyshire Ruled Out Of England Squad

Blackburn Rovers striker Matt Derbyshire has been forced to pull put of the England Under-21 squad for the European Championship Qualifier with Portugal.

Derbyshire has picked up a groin strain and as a result won't be fit enough to face the Portuguese on Friday, so he becomes the fourth player forced to withdraw from Stuart Pearce's squad. This is a blow for England of course, but as Rovers fans our first thought is how long he will be out for us! The good news is that this isn't understood to be a major strain and he should be fit for our next Premier League match with Arsenal.

It's a shame for Derbs (and of course England) but lets just hope that he is fit for our next League match with Arsenal, which from the sounds of it he should be (fingers crossed!!!)

Yep - he'll have many more opportunities to play for England, so it's important he gets fit and playing for us.
