Roque Does It Again

Whenever someone tries to take stability out of Blackburn Rovers, Roque Santa Cruz shows over and over that he is fully committed to the team that has given him the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful game we all love.

Just as it has been mentioned that Aston Villa was up to get him, as there have been many other teams this summer, it has been officially announced that Roque Santa Cruz's just signed a new deal that extends his contract until June 2012.

Ever since Roque arrived from Bayern Munich last year, he has done nothing but expressing how grateful he is for the amazing experience he is getting at Blackburn. After every rumour that the press has released, all Roque has said was: I'm very happy at Ewood and I'm not thinking of leaving.

When Sparky left, we must admit that we all feared Roque might follow him; but he is just full of class as a person. A gentleman of his word.

Roque has already won many tittles with very few minutes on the pitch...now he is willing to do his share in order to make Blackburn Rovers succeed with him being an important piece in the team.

The season has started amazingly well and we all hope it continues in the same way; however there is a long way to go, but with this kind of news things can only get better.

Really good stuff diegoveron, I'm ecstatic that your fellow countryman has decided that Ewood is the place for him for PLENTY of years to come!!!

this is good news for many different reasons, the 1st is that it shows that the waters at Rovers are not as rocky ( see wot i did there lol ) as the press would have us believe, when THE star striker commits. another plus point it that it will give Rovers even more bargaining power IF other clubs come sniffing around - I have always said that the the English clubs should take on the Spanish way and if your in the same league u have to buy out the contracts, it wouls certainly stop the big clubs constantly buying the best players from wot are seen as the smaller clubs, as u can see from Spain, it does help, I know that Bar'ca and Real are kinda the undisputed top 2 but they do not have tsome of the better player in the league, who can stay with the other clubs, I think it would make for an even better Premiership, though i may be wrong

Someone's willing to bet on his release clause? lol
IsraeliRover
Brilliant news, I never doubted Roque's commitment to the club. The main worry is the release clause business but sod that, lets just be glad we've signed him on!
adrianbrfc
lol i agree tht he may hav a high release clause or even worse like bellamy had i fink (plz tell me if i am wrong) tht if a top 4 team comes in for him he is allowed to speak to em sumthin like tht
Lets Do The Samba
A man of class for sure. We know he wont be here for ever but he realises what is best for him and not been swayed by any chit chat from the papers. Deserved the massive ovation he got on Saturday before kick off. WHAT WILL THE PAPERS WRITE ABOUT NOW!?!?!
MikeyGamst
Exactly Mikey... the papers have gone quiet now and he did deserve his ovation before the game.. even though he was absent for most of it! I watched match of the day, and a reporter asked him something like... "you signed a new contract, why did you want to do that?" as if to say "are you mad?" I wish RSC just answered "because they're the best and money isn't everything!" Glad he has resigned it shows that we are heading in the right direction once more and shows other players that we are a good club to play for

does this guy lack ambition? seriously, he's one of a dying breed - the loyal breed and I admire him!
merlin
PAtronising sods some people arent they FN1???!!! and merlin... he signs becuase he realises he is no better off going to Man City/Villa/Man United for various reasons. And you aint the only one to admire him matey!! we all do.
MikeyGamst
Top guy, a gentleman and a man ready to take legendary status at our fantastic club!!!

Rumours all summer about RSC but he is still here!............I refer you back to an article I released a week or so back!!!! I could be Roques press agent!!! LOL!.............. The Daily Mail writes........Roque Santa Cruz has revealed that he agreed to sign a new four-year contract at Blackburn because he owed it to them for putting his faltering career back on track. The South American star, who could easily have pushed to join a bigger team after his spectacular Premier League start, refreshingly decided cash comes behind loyalty and honour, once qualities as English as a stiff upper lip.
