An Interview With Vital Hull

An Interview With Vital Hull

Matt from Vital Hull City has been in touch to do the regular pre match interview with me before Saturday's game at Ewood Park.

Below is the response I got to the questions I asked...

How good of a feeling was it to get your first win on the board on the very first day of the season?

It was fantastic - Especially as we went behind. Last season, we only won from a losing position once so it was nice to do that on the opening day of the season. It was imperative we got points on the board early on due to the fixture list being nice to us, so we've got 3 points and we'll be looking to add more in our next home game against Wigan Athletic.

Who is going to be your match winner this season?

It seems like it could be Geovanni. The former Man City midfielder was a star against Fulham and his goal demonstrated his skill. Signed on a free, Phil Brown may have made one of the deals of the summer if he can put in the performances that will keep Hull City in the Premier League.

Is it realistic for you to avoid relegation this season?

It's much too early to say. Realistically, it is going to be a struggle and we are going to have some tough times along the way this season. By Christmas time, we may have a better indication of where our season is going but I can't possible get carried away over one win by saying we will stay up. However, if we display the same charachter and determination that ew did against Fulham, then there is a chance we will survive.

Are there any Blackburn players you fear will do Hull damage?

Most of them! No, I would say you have a real attacking threat in Roque Santa Cruz and Gamst Pedersen can be a threat although he doesn't seem to of had the same impact as he did in his first year. Any away game will be difficult for Hull this season so I'm not too sure what to expect.

What do you make of our new boss Paul Ince?

I've read about all the rumoured disharmony in your squad but it didn't seem that way on Saturday. He's not proven but he has to be given a chance. However, judging by potential signings such as Robbie Fowler and Keith Ansrews, he may soon learn what it takes to be a top flight manager.

Which game this season are you most looking forward to and why?

I'm quite looking forward to going to Newcastle in a few weeks time and I'm looking forward to going to Spurs too, a club I have always had a fondness for.

On behalf of Vital Blackburn may I thank Matt for his time and say good luck for Saturday and for the rest of the season.

My interview with Vital Hull will be on their website prior to the game. Go check it out...

Another boring international break has hit this March, so if you've ever wondered who has saved the most penalties in Premier League history - wonder no more!

Irish Eyes Are Smiling

Blackburn`s game against Doncaster had already been called off. If it hadn`t, it definitely would with the Republic of Ireland`s decision to include two defenders in the final squad.

No Tippy-Tappy Performer

Bradley Dack has proven plenty of ability on the ball and has a keen eye for a goal, but the former Gillingham man has also show he's physically able and willing to get stuck in.

Modest Marksman

You'll not find many who haven't been impressed by Armstrong since he came to Blackburn. The on-loan Newcastle forwards goalscoring exploits speak for themselves.
