Rovers Trial For Jordi Lopez

Blackburn Rovers have taken FREE agent Jordi Lopez on trial according to reports on Skysports.com.

The 27-year-old former Real Mallorca midfielder (who was released at the end of his contract) is understood to have been recommended to Rovers manager Paul Ince so he will take a few days to access the midfielder before deciding to offer him a contract at Ewood Park. Skysports.com say that he is a right-sided midfielder so could be a natural replacement for David Bentley?

Lopez has already had a trial with Portsmouth earlier this month but they didn't take up the option on him.

Does anyone know anything about the dude?!?!
Walker
I must confess to not knowing anything about the chap. It will be typical rovers should we sign him and joaquin was a smoke screen!
roversman
I have to join in by saying I know nothing but if Pompey didnt want him is he really that good??? time will tell.
MikeyGamst
Nobody wanted Santa Cruz or Samba and look at them. Its got to the stage now where you have to get excited by any unheard of player that comes in on trial. Could turn out to be a great player even if pompey couldn't spot it. I still think Treacy could be the answer though. He scored the other night for the Irish under 21s and had a good game. Would be a good understudy for someone

As far as i can remember this guy played for Bara for a while. Im gonna check it out and report back. If its the guy im thinking of he is argentinian and had loads of potential but never lived up to it
durks de rover
ok he is spanish but was at barca at the start of his career. it was maxi lopez i was thinking of.
durks de rover
who? lol ah well we said that with samba didnt we, lets see how he goes
sasman
I wouldnt say we didnt want Santa or Samba del!!! I would say we knew little about them in hindsight... Samba especially. But as you say.. it all turned out right in the end.
MikeyGamst
Remember lads Nelsen had a trial with Charlton before we signed him and they didnt take up the option on him and look how he turned out
durks de rover
Very true that Durks... I stand corrected. Let the boy have a fair crack.
MikeyGamst
According to the This Is Lancashire site Blackburn've also take my compatriot GK Levita. An extremely talented yet unstable GK. Why can't we sign Hennessey or Murray or that giant Lewis?!?!?!
IsraeliRover
The main thing that worries me boys is that he was on trial at Pompy earlier this summer and never even got a contract there!!! This in a team who's just signed Jerome Thomas!!! BIN HIM
mani13963
never no mani, maybe pompey where looking for a different sort of right sided player, this guy might be really flamboyant, they might want a conservative player...
sasman
all im gunna say is remember that other spanish dude we had who didnt perfom to his ability damn forgot his name hes was from espanyol or someone like a attacking midfielder! rah!
