Rovers Trial For Jordi Lopez

Blackburn Rovers have taken FREE agent Jordi Lopez on trial according to reports on Skysports.com.

The 27-year-old former Real Mallorca midfielder (who was released at the end of his contract) is understood to have been recommended to Rovers manager Paul Ince so he will take a few days to access the midfielder before deciding to offer him a contract at Ewood Park. Skysports.com say that he is a right-sided midfielder so could be a natural replacement for David Bentley?

Lopez has already had a trial with Portsmouth earlier this month but they didn't take up the option on him.

I must confess to not knowing anything about the chap. It will be typical rovers should we sign him and joaquin was a smoke screen!

Nobody wanted Santa Cruz or Samba and look at them. Its got to the stage now where you have to get excited by any unheard of player that comes in on trial. Could turn out to be a great player even if pompey couldn't spot it. I still think Treacy could be the answer though. He scored the other night for the Irish under 21s and had a good game. Would be a good understudy for someone

According to the This Is Lancashire site Blackburn've also take my compatriot GK Levita. An extremely talented yet unstable GK. Why can't we sign Hennessey or Murray or that giant Lewis?!?!?!

The main thing that worries me boys is that he was on trial at Pompy earlier this summer and never even got a contract there!!! This in a team who's just signed Jerome Thomas!!! BIN HIM

never no mani, maybe pompey where looking for a different sort of right sided player, this guy might be really flamboyant, they might want a conservative player...
