Rovers Close To Agreeing Fowler Deal

Rovers Close To Agreeing Fowler Deal

Blackburn Rovers are close to agreeing a contract with Robbie Fowler that would see him stay at Ewood Park, on a temporary basis at least.

Since leaving Cardiff City in the summer Fowler has been training with Rovers in an attempt to earn himself one last crack at the Premier League, and it is understood that he has done enough to convince Rovers manager Paul Ince that he is worth this chance. Ince had been impressed with the 33-year-old, and after being included in the Rovers team photo he should be confirmed anytime now.

Ince is quoted on Sky Sports as saying: "We are close to doing something with Robbie. He's been different class in training in the last few days.

"Robbie is a Premier League goalscorer and he always will be, but the only issue is getting his sharpness back.
"

It is understood that the former England International will sign a pay-as-you-play deal for an initial six-month period.

Get him onboard, he has the experience to help out and on a pay-as-you-play basis we have even less to lose!!! It's worth a crack at least.

Go on then... pay as you play is fair enough. It shows that he will have to be up for it to get a go.

Are you lot serious? he hasn't been a force in the Premiership for ten years! You'd be better off going down the BBC, and talking Alan Shearer out of retirement. RF won't scare any of todays centre backs.

Oz who do you really support? Are you a dingle? Anyway, I can't see the harm in this move and applaud the offer laid out by the board as it will really test Fowler's reslove about how much he wants it at Ewood.

No Oz we played against 11 of their players and our 11 were better. They lost 4-0 and offered nothing.

OZ, we gonna fall out again???? Dont buy in to all the crap that Everton have been spouting!!! The team that they fielded was good enough to finish 5th last season!! Cahill is the only notable injury n he was injured for most of last season anyway!! I'm not one for gloating but we went to Goodison and out fought, out played and out run Everton!!! If you cant feel pride for that performance then u must be a dingle!! Pompy got slapped by Chelsea and the penalty decision + Deco were irrelevant!! If we play like we did on Saturday for the rest of the season then he can sign Fowler, he can sign Andrews......hell he can drag Carlton Palmer outa retirement for all i care!!!!! INCEY INCEY INCEY!!!!!!!!!

Championship Cost Per Goal So Far In 2016/17

The end of the Championship campaign of 2016/17 is only a month and a bit away from fans across the country but as we go in to the remaining weeks of the campaign...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
