Nelsen Returns To Ewood

In accordance to the arrangement Blackburn Rovers had with New Zealand for our skipper Ryan Nelsen to go to Beijing he will now return to Ewood Park for the new season.

Rovers agreed to let Nelsen join up with the Kiwi's for their opening two matches at the Olympic Games (a 1-1 draw with China and a 5-0 defeat to Brazil on Sunday) on the understanding that the 30-year-old would return after these. Paul Ince will now be able to call upon God to lead us in our opening Premier League match with Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Everyone benefited from this, by allowing him to play in the opening two matches Nelsen got to fulfil his Olympic dream and we got to have him back in time for the start of the season.

lol this may sound a bit harsh cus i fink nelson is a quality defender i am kind of upset he is back cus i wanted to see how dunn would of dunn captaining us agaist everton o well there is always next time
Lets Do The Samba
Glad he will be back for the start of the campaign. And I'm also glad that Ince didn't stand in his way of going.

Glad ur back skipp, Ooijer just doesn't do it for me n Samba looks half the man without you too!! get em sorted!!

Im glad Nelson is back, i would like to see him and Ooijer together for a bit at the back, Samba is good but Andre had a good Euro's, deserves his chance i reckon
Clint
I agree with Clint. Oojier started all but one game for the Dutch, yet he struggles to get into the Rovers side. He is a more solid defender than Samba (in my opinion). However, saying such, we wouldn't have much pace at the back...

Not as good as Nelson but I think Kizi is better than Oooijer at centre half reads the game really well and makes very few errors..like samba and andre

Great news, our rock is back, clean sheet time baby, oh wait friedel aint there anymore lol, comon robbo

Great news. Blackburn's best defender and our leader. The first to come out and declare his loyalty when Hughes left... welcome back Ryan.

Ooijer is a good reader of the game as well I like Zurab too but he is back up to Samba and Ooijer and fills in a rite back. At present we have at least 5 good centre backs in Nelsen, Ooijer, Samba, Zurab and Mokeona - all can do a job at this level. Oojier cannot be a regular in one of the worlds top international teams by not being good, as he was gettin in the team ahead of some very good players
Clint
Agreed clint. I dont think Sparky used Ooijer enough last season, he's a top class defender, I'd rate him above Samba any day!! Glad to see Nelson is back and injury free!

I dont particularly rate Axe as a CB i must be honest. Ooijer is deffo underrated though as is Monk.
