Ghanaian Annan Ready For Rovers Move

Blackburn Rovers target Anthony Annan is relishing the opportunity of playing in the Premier League for Rovers.

Annan, who is being compared to Claude Makelele and is an International team-mate of Michael Essien seem set to complete his move to Ewood Park from Norwegian club Start (he had been on loan with Stabaek) shortly having been training with the us. Rovers are understood to have held off the challenge of Atletico Madrid and AC Milan who were both interested. However, the lure of playing for Paul Ince is what is understood to have swayed him in favour of Ewood.

Annan told skysports.com: "I am very proud to have the opportunity to work with Paul Ince, everybody in world football knows what a great player he was and to have the opportunity to learn from him is fantastic, it can only help to make me a better player.

"Training has been great, the facilities at Blackburn are the best I have experienced and all of the players and coaching staff made me feel really welcome.

"The atmosphere was friendly and bubbly and I am here to work hard, learn and to impress."

SO MUCH FOR THE MUTINOUS ATMOSPHERE AT THE TRAINING GROUND THEN!!!

The 22-year-old feels that he is up to the challenge of playing in the Premier League and wants to hit the ground running, with his previous experience of European football and the tough physical nature standing him in good stead.

He added: "I have experience of European football, playing in the very tough and physical Norwegian league with Stabaek who are leading the championship just now.

"I have played in the African Nations Cup and World Cup qualifiers with the Ghana national team, playing alongside Essien and Muntari and that has helped me develop and although I am 22, I am mature and ready for the Premier League."

If Annan WANTS to play for Rovers (and Paul Ince!!!), and is as good as he is understood to be then that is all I need to know.

You never know with reports, but if Atletico Madrid and AC Milan have looked at him he must be good. Incey is looking for a defensive midfielder and Annan fits the bill.
Walker
Well, if he's even half as good as Maka, he'll be a pretty good signing.
chelseaforever
This could be a very good signing, but surprised ince said he is going to keep the axe!!! mmm

I am REALLY excited at the prospect of this signing.....has had rave reviews and genuinely wants to be at the club if you believe his recent comments.....INCEY, this is the type of signing that will make us luv you......guys, this guy is the muts nuts, even OZ will struggle to find a negative angle with this!!!! ha ha
mani13963
trust me, Oz could find a negative angle after winning the lottery and having a supermodel fall in love with him...
FreidelNo.1
Oz, is this true, if you had massive gonads, would you still be unhappy?
Desert Kiwi
I have a great feeling ab out this guy, gonna be awesome

This has the potential to be a fantastic signing, well done Incey!!
spinaker7081
looks like we have missed out now arsenal have stuck their noses in, givin him a trial, bad news this is if arsenal sign him.
roverjoy
Tell me about it!!!!! Looks like we may have missed out and if so then this is a complete tragedy!!!!
mani13963
I think at arsenal his place may be sujected to the bench ..this proves the desire for a player to play that is why I admire Roque rather than like macmanaman make millions sitting around..doing something to prove something is different..Does he want to sit or play??????
oztheman
I'm gonna have to agree with you again OZ!!! If he goes to Arsenal then he surely will be benched this season at least!! Give us a chance Anthony, you wont regret it and if you are as good as we all believe then you will get ur move!!! We have to do everything possible to sign this player.....his combative style will work perfectly with the tricky but light weight Villenueva!!!
mani13963
probably asked for wages..lol
oztheman
Why are we dithering with this guy?!?!? BUY HIM !!!!!
