Stoke Want The Axe

Stoke City are apparently after the Axe man, Aaron Mokoena. This is due to a few news reports, particularly on Sky Sports.

The South African captain, South africa's most capped player, is determined to secure regular first-team football this season.

Mokoena will be keen to hold talks with Paul Ince to see where he figures in the managers' plans for the 08-09 season. However, with 2 more central midfielders coming in to the Rovers set up, Aaron's Blackburn future looks in doubt.

Mokoena has also been linked with a move to Manchester City to link up with his former boss Mark Hughes, whilst Rangers, Ajax and Schalke have also been credited with an interest.

But to get the first team football he craves, Stoke looks the most likely option.

will be gobsmacked if rangers etc bid for the axe, Stoke seems like a realistic destination for him.

I honestly think it could be time for Aaron to move on. he came in when we were relgation threatened, did his bit. Keeps the ship tight but I believe we may have out grown that.

the axe, been a good servant to the club, filled in when he has been needed, though it is time to go, unless incey sees something

Mokoena was class when he first arrived, he really stopped the team shipping goals and we became far more water tight when he came into the team. Its a shame that he is seen as being surplus to requirements as he is one the reasons we are still in the premier league. However last season whenever he played he was poor so if we can get a few bob for him then fair enough I say.

Castillo's imminent signing says it all. Thanks for entertaining us Aaron, Good luck god bless!!
MajiRovers
Aaron, the only thing i can say about you is that ur second touch was always a tackle!!!!!!!!!!! Let him go boys, he's an average midfielder to put it politely and an even worse centre half!!! He grafts and grafts but Stoke will be able to progress with him....we wont!!

Bit harsh that mani!!! lol... I think he deserves a bit more credit than that. Played well in the FA Cup semi v Chelsea and scored a crucial goal v Man City. he certainly isnt everyones taste, but I liked him. If he does go, I wish him only the best.
MikeyGamst
omg! accept the offer straight away, no offence

IF all those other clubs are after him WHY are we selling. Somehow I don't beleive that they are!!! He's been a good servant to us, but it's time for him to move on, with thanks and best wishes of course.

the poor axe, ive never dissed him though, always had a soft spot for him lol
sasman
Well get money for the Axe great job, he did his job when we needed him and looked a good player 2 seasons ago towards the end of it. Failed in his way last season, especially marking on corners. But wish him well if he does leave.

I think Ajax are back in after the Axe, back to where it all started! I do think its time to cash in on him as he's never going to get the games he wants and needs, i like him and he's a handy player to have around, but i feel if he was going to get in the team he would have by now, so time to get someone else in that will push the more established 1st teamers more. The Axe has played well when asked but its time to move on for Rovers

Ha ha i don't think i was too harsh Mikey...the guy helped us out of a sticky spot n for that i thank him but he's average and we all know it!! Good luck Aaron, my finest memory of you was when you stopped Robben at Ewood.............n that says everythin about you as a footballer!!! ha ha
mani13963
For god sake boys he's called "The Axe"!!!! Can't imagine Pele was ever reffered to as this!!! ha ha
mani13963
sorry don't like the guy, he done Robben in our first title winning season and he knows it!
merlin
Yeah coz Robben was in no way a complete pr*ck was he?!?!? (sorry about the language).

Using thuggery to stop skill is just as bad as the divers. Shoot them all. Giving them stupid names doesn't help.
