Newcastle Have Warncok Bid Rejected

Newcastle United have reportedly had a bid for Stephen Warnock turned down outright by Paul Ince at Blackburn.

The offer is allegedly £3 million, but Rovers are keen to hold on to the full back who was bought for an absolute steal at £1.5 million from Liverpool in January 2007.

Warnock has since got rid of his tag as injury prone and established himself as a regular at left back for Blackburn and recently made his full England debut.

£3 million Keegan??? You;re having a laugh.

Warnock isn't going anywhere as he recently backed the new manager and looks to another season of progress at Ewood Park.

The vultures certainly are circling our club trying to pick it apart!

Yeah I ahve to agree, wot with Friedal possibly going to and def linked to Villa and now this, please!!! To leave for Newcastle would not be a good move for Warnock, just does not make sense and for Freidal to start over at the age of 38 is a bit silly as well, I do think we should take Robinson as part of any deal with Spurs but with the intention of having a good keeper around for possibly next season when Brad gets that wee bit closer to 40
Clint
Cheeky was my original thought. Warnock is one of the Premier leagues unsung heroes, does his job, keeps out of the limelight. An offer of £3 million, although flattering, is no-where his value. If Wayne Bridge is valued at £5mill, Warnock must be valued around £7mill...? On the Friedal situation, taking off my Blue and White tinted glasses, if someone is willing to pay £2.5 million for a 38 year old, you would normally snap their hand off...?

It seems like a lot of your players are being linked away, I hope you can keep most of your squad together as I like Rovers. As a Villa fan I would obviously take Bentley and Friedel off your hands but I am sure you would get a good amount for cash for both. As some of you have mentioned 2.5 mil is a good price for both clubs, as we want him for a couple of years to let the other american Brad settle in to the prem, Friedel will definately be in to mentor the young lad.
Tez86
Sorry Tez86 - I wouldn't want Friedel sold for all the tea in China. And yep, DP I see your point about 2.5 million for 38 year old... but he is a keeper, this isn't Tugay we're talking about. If Brad stays fit I don't see a reason why he can't carry on for another couple of years. The fact that Villa want him so badly shows that they they think he can do a job for a couple of years - so do I
FreidelNo.1
The main reason you don't want him to go is that you'd have to change your name aswell FN1! CarsonNo.1 doesn't have the same ring :-) However, RobboNo.1 could work. Could have been EnklemanNo.1, which would have been a bit of a mouth full...
Decimus Poole
Warnock is one of the best LB in the country+ you can hardly find any good LB's today- so no way we should sell him....
IsraeliRover
DP - well yes that would annoy me!
FreidelNo.1
It looks like it is going to happen now as well mate. Shame. Warnock willd ef be staying though.

Lots of changes on the horizon... still clubs go through transitions like these - lets hope we come out of it with a decent squad.
FreidelNo.1
Come to think of it, the bid is down right insulting... Keggy knows nothing about defenders, that much is clear.
MikeyGamst
dead right Mikey 2M for someone who just made the national team is a joke! But its newcastle what do you expect! Hopefully the pineapple and castillo impress the lads in training and they all stay, with renewed optimisum.
MajiRovers
At least £3 million is better than the £2 million I had heard, which was truly laughable, £3 million is still laughable but not as much but still NO WHERE near enough, not that he's for sale anyway. On you go Mr Keegan true to mug someone else as you aren't mugging us!
Walker
We aint stupid enough to accept that bid. I would think at least 6 mil but even then I still wouldnt sell.
