'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Castillo Reckons He's A Rover

Segundo Castillo, the Ecuadorian central midfielder, has revealed that he is on the verge of a move to Blackburn Rovers.

Castillo's agent revealed a while back that Rovers wanted his man to bolster the midfield forces at Ewood Park.

But now Castillo himself has stepped out to insist he is on his way.

The 26-year-old midfielder told Sky Sports News, 'This is a very interesting step for my career because I will have the chance to be near the big teams.

'I am very happy I am going to play in the Premier League and what makes me very happy as well is that I have been told that the coach of Blackburn (Paul Ince) has insisted on signing me, and that gives me confidence.

'Next week I will be travelling to England. I hope to play well and open even more doors to more players of my country.'

To be fair, Juventus have been looking at Castillo as well so if we do get him then it is somewhat of a coup.

Good article Mikey. I heard about this yesterday on Setanta. He sounds like a good buy and seems a good positive step by Ince.

When he said 'near the big teams' does he mean geographically?? like near Man u and Liverpool?! They shouldn't allow footballers to talk to the press!
FreidelNo.1
I heard he was still on trial...

When he says coming over next week, is that when the whole squad and manager will be in Germany?
durks de rover
When do they set off for germany anyway? I am assuming it is soon.

Its good someone actually saying they want to come to rovers rather then leave lol. I do see my share of international football as you guys no buy now, however this one is a mystery to me, havent seen him before, hope he is the right man
