Spurs agree Bentley Fee....

Spurs agree Bentley Fee....

Blackburn Rovers Chairman John Williams and Spurs Chairman, David Levy have reportedly agreed on a 17 million pound transfer fee for Rovers winger, David Bentley. Additional to this deal, Paul Robinson will be heading over to Ewood Park.

This provides two points of discussion. 17 million pounds is fair enough in my opinion for David Bentley. However, with Paul Robinson also included, we surely have the better of the deal.

But, with Robinson coming our way, does this mean the end of the Friedel would be shame as we all love our American Idol.

More to be confirmed as the news breaks.....

I think it is good Spurs getting ripped off again, and if a bumper offer came in for friedal then hard to resist given his age. I think RObinson just needs a change of scenary don't forget he was England Number one and still has many years ahead of him.

I agree that Robinson will be ok once he changes scenery. Too much pressure on him right now and every error is magnified. In terms of £17m for Bentley I would bet it will be £9m up front and the rest on appearances. I just cannot see Spurs paying that upfront.

the deal is probably worth 17m in total. So We would pay 13m spread over 4 years or so is my guess..

Getting rid of Robbo is worth paying 17m for Bentley. Agree Tailor, the fee for Bentley will be based on appearances ect. Levy is a shrewed businessman, he knows what to do.

doubt it, rovers would want cash up front, remember a percentage is going to the gooners, really wanted huddlestone part of ny deal ah well

That's right RD, Levy is proper shrewd. Another factor everybody is overlooking is how much is Robbo valued as part of this deal? They call it a £17m deal but it could be £11m + Robb (if valued at £6m) - who knows. Getting rid of Hollywood Robinson is a priority for Spurs for sure.

stillbelieve, no need to lower the tone. We are having our best player in Berby taking away as well.Thats football. Even ManU are having their best player tapped up..Thats part of parcel of the game today.

stillbelieve - I remember a couple of years ago you were on a par with us... questions... how much did you spend to get on par with us? Was it value for money? Now that we are better than you league wise, you think we'll be relegated as you have bought Bentley from us? And what is it you still believe, stillbelieve?
