Forward Of The Season
With YOUR help Vital Blackburn has been trying to determine what have been the best and worst of the Blackburn Rovers 2007-2008 season.
The nominations are still be taken for other Awards, but the Vital Blackburn Awards for 2007-2008 continue to be dished out with the ALAN SHEARER AWARD FOR FORWARD OF THE SEASON.
THE WINNER: ROQUE SANTA CRUZ.
When asked to simply leave the name of your Forward of the Season most felt Roque Santa Cruz should be the Award Winner, so congratulations to Santa Cruz!
This was a unanimous decision (as with the Midfielder of the Award for David Bentley, for a second year running) and (also again with that Award) there was only EVER going to be one winner and this winner was Santa, quite rightly so!!!
Benni McCarthy picked up this Award last year, also in his first season, and Santa's contribution last season was equally as good, if not better due to the fact that the Paraguayan International came into the English game with NOTHING like the goalscoring reputation that McCarthy did, however, his goals and his all-round play were a major factor for us last season.
