Opportunity Knox For Archie

Opportunity Knox For Archie

As had been expected Blackburn Rovers manager Paul Ince has appointed Archie Knox onto the Ewood Park coaching staff.

61-year-old Knox has been added to Ince's backroom staff, accepting a post as first team coach, which as much as I know not all are happy with this you can't knock his experience. If Sir Alex Ferguson has been happy to work with him at both Aberdeen and Manchester United he most definitely can't be lacking in quality, he has also worked with the Scottish International side as well.

Incey is now understood to be talking with an experience Goalkeeping Coach, and is expected to appoint someone into this post before the new season begins.

GREAT experience, and a lot of quality as well. I can't fault this appointment at all!

at united till 91, then Rangers and Everton and Bolton so 4 years in the Prem, one in the last ten, I know Bolton players felt his methods where dated. I expected us to poach someone, his recent time was spent at millwall, livingston, scotland U21's. The Premiership has really changed in the last ten years. Does anyone know the name of the other coach that has joined??

Good move this. Will bring some much needed experience to proceedings and how can Bolton complain about dated methods when they throw a long ball up to Kev Davies every week?!?!?

Bolton are so dated the players and fans gaze in amazement when the floodlights are switched on!

I think that the league has changed but the game hasnt, Knox has been around long enuff to have picked up new ideas and adopted new tactics, otherwise no-one would have bothered woth him, I think its a good call from Rovers and just shows that Megson knows nothing about football lol His experience i think will come in handy for Ince and Rovers alike. I have to agree with Mikey when i say - how could Bolton players know anything different from the 'hoof to diouf' playing stlye!!! lol Sometimes there's no sustitute for experience and Knox has it in bundles

Thank you clint... Knox has been around the block more than once so will no doubt be a helping hand in showing Ince the ropes!

With a new defensive coach coming in as well as a GK coach we're gonna have a large staff.

I hear that Ince has about 2 for each position in the backroom staff set up, along with the ones he brought from MK Dons he has added experience, i think this is a masterstroke from Rovers, especailly with this new defensive coach coming in, as not many teams have this. I think Ince has noticed that we do leak to many silly goals and hopefully this will do something about it!

We are the masters of that Clint... but would it be Rovers without the silly goals conceded!?!?
