Rovers In Fresh Takeover Talk

Rovers In Fresh Takeover Talk

Nabeel Chowdery is the man, he has made a fortune in property and is a close friend of Rovers goalkeeper Brad Friedel.

The club's chairman John Williams confirmed earlier this summer that Rovers would be willing to discuss a buy-out, they even assigned Rothschild to find a suitable buyer.

A takeover by Chowdery could mean a huge transfer kitty for new Rovers boss Paul Ince, which would help us sustain our status at the right end of the table

Chowdery, who is not a Rovers fan (that we know of anyway!), said a deal will be completed if Williams lowers the asking price.

Chowdery spoke to the People newspaper and revealed the following - 'I think it's probably worth £40million, but the price they are asking is too high,'

'If they wanted to come to a realistic figure we could have a deal.'

2 potential suitors have fallen by the way side due to the same problem. The American-based Dan Williams and JJB chief executive Chris Ronnie were both close to a takeover but felt the board were asking too much. This is bearing in mind they would be buying the clubs portfolio of small debts and loans as well.

The trustees of Rovers` late benefactor Jack Walker own 99.9 percent of the club's shareholding, and have been accused in the past of setting an unrealistic price.

So in response to this I, Mikey, say the following...

*Blackburn is a fans club and you say it is in the best interest of the club to have new owners in the forseeable future so please accept the following as a plea...

LOWER YOUR ASKING PRICE AND LET US TAKE A STEP FORWARD. GREED GETS YOU NOWHERE.

I second that! It would be a shame if the Trustees should turn out to be our curse - that is not the "Jack Walker way". Support us or let us go!

When Dan Williams backed out due to this people questioned the fact that if he couldnt raise the money for the asking price then how could he finance transfers but now that more people have come along at levelled the same thing against the board it shows why these people are successful they dont buy anything if they feel they are being ripped off, its time the fans stopped getting ripped off and Blackburn Rovers are allowed to move forward once again, after all that is what Jack Walker wanted.

Jack would not be happy with this... let the right man takeover. £40 million is the right price for our club.

If the trustees have the best interests of the club in mind then they have to sell or this club will go no where. I am sick of watching clubs like Pompey etc with grounds of a similar size to our own get to go out and spend 20 million a season on players while that sort of figure would have to do us for 3 or 4 seasons. If this does not happen soon then i fear for our survival in the premiership

It's time for the trustees to sell so we can get the finances required to make sure we can keep up, if not we'll get left behind which WILL mean players go!!! Keep the price fair and lets us move on PLEASE.

remember that the way we are currently financed is unique... they are obviously asking too much... that much is evdient... plus the less money the trust gets, the more and potential investor has to invets in a squad... I bet ticket prices go back up though!

Im not so sure, it depends who is retained from the current board, I would like to think JW would still be asked to stay on.

I'm worried about this... would a buyer splash more cash than we already get? Would they see Rovers as a profit making club? An I agree with Mikey, I wouldn't want to see JW go as a result.

Whatever happens Williams MUST stay. I think the best thing for us is for fresh investment to now come so we don't get left behind.
