'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Forget About It Whisky Nose

Paul Ince has told Manchester United to forget about signing Roque Santa Cruz, he is staying with rovers if Ince has anything to say about it.

The champions of England are willing to pay £12million for the Paraguayan international, but new Blackburn Rovers boss and former Old Trafford star Ince has told Sir Alex Ferguson to go look elsewhere as he would like to keep him.

Ince , speaking to Sky Sports News said 'If he comes on asking about Santa Cruz then I'll just tell him he's not having him, I had a text off Sir Alex to say 'congratulations, well done', as I've had off numerous people. But I'm under no illusions, I'm the enemy now.'

In the same interview Ince said he wants to keep Dave Bentley, this however may prove tricky as Bentley has publicly declared his intention to move on this summer where as Roque has made no comment.

But if anyone can, the new man can.

Go on Ince, he has made the right move here by taking a firm stance straight away... not a man to be bullied is the new boss.

I guess we shall just wait and see. ALl the speculation has been on possible outs, roque, bents, brad, nelson, samba, what about ins? I dont even sniff a signing, but il keep browsing and scouting
sasman
'Whisky Nose'...........love it!
marron
Sas, is that where you have been??? out and about doing the scouting?
MikeyGamst
I don't understand where a figure of £12 million comes from. Surely if Bentley is supposedly worth £15 million, Roque is worth £20 million - not that I want him sold!
FreidelNo.1
Offer them a swap you'll take Ronaldo and Tevez plus cash in part ex......
Tiny T
i like Tiny Ts way of thinking!!
durks de rover
I'm telling you guys, unless Williams or Ince want him out, he is not leaving anywhere. The only way I see Roque leaving is if someone offers Blackburn a huge irrejeactable amount of money! (speacially City, where Sparky is)
diegoveron
Sparky can sod off.... lol In fact everyone can!!! (apart from the rovers contingent!)... Santa is here to stay.
MikeyGamst
whisky nose, then your new boss is the big-time charlie
UnitedRed
Big time charlie Icne then! (Yes i noticed the spelling mistake, apparently none of you did in Mikey's article LOL) Ince will, I believe try and talk the 2 players into giving it another season. I dont see this being an issue for Santa as he has only had one season and another season like he has had and there will be no shortage of offers, a poorer season and he would still be in demand, only the fee would be a little less so its win win for Santa. Bentley would take more convincing IMO, hes basically said "I dont want to come to work where I work anymore" and that is going to be difficult for the other players to get over, never mind the fans, who will no doubt give him some for his words, should he stay.

If anyone can persuade Roque to stay then it is Ince. Sasman is right. It is about time we seen some speculation linking us with some players. Whats the story with our scouts though. Are they gone to City with Hughes or do they still work for Rovers. At the end of the day it was them who found Nelsen, Samba etc and not Hughes. He just had the final say so if they still work for us then can we expect some more bargain superstars this summer
del
Santa hasn't expressed a desire to go, until he does (if he does) I'm not concerned at all, and why should we be. Bents on the other hand, its time for him to go. Once you publically say you want out there isn't really any going back is there?!!?
Hughes Da Man
If anything Santa publically said that he wasn't going anywhere!
FreidelNo.1
He wouldnt be welcome back here next season (Bentley). Santa will stay as I said. And pulling people up for spelling mistakes Bom!?!? lol
MikeyGamst
Oh and stop being sensitive UnitedRed... it was a joke. lol
