Roberts Says Rovers Will Remain United

Jason Roberts dismisses the speculation that links his Rovers team-mates with summer moves away from Ewood Park.

"We have a great squad at Blackburn. At the end of every season there is speculation about other clubs coming in for our best players. That's happening again, but we've been good at holding onto people here, so I'm not worried. I'm sure everyone knows what we are capable of and wants to be a part of it. We are a tight group here.

"We need to try to keep clear of injuries as much as possible. The game is getting more and more athletic and players are expected to work harder for longer periods. Training is more intense and there aren't any moments when you can take a break in a Premiership match."

Considering that JR was one of the players who wanted to leave last season I did chuckle when I read this!

A bit off topic. Have you heard JW is flying abroad to interview a "mystery man" for the manager job!!! - could this me Bilic or Laudrup??? Heres to hoping! Apparently he is to busy to come to Ewood - Im thinking a EURO 08 manager (bilic i hope)

Its nice to hear that at least one player is certain that Rovers are a good team, Roberts is getting in there quick as a team player for any potential manager though aint he lol
Clint
Its on the forum that redstarman... and why not Clint? at least he is coming out and being loyal which is more than could be said for some.
MikeyGamst
Sorry :-) Wasnt aware of the forum. My bad :-)
redstarman
oh no i agree, especailly as he was kinda overlooked by Hughes at times, although granted he was injured for a while and then acted like a ***** with transfer requests and all. But i agree, more of the players should come out like Roberts and Nelsen!! It would help to attract a good manager after all if he's not walking into a club where everyone wants to leave
Clint
Yer good to hear and hopefully it is true about the team being united.

A few more of them could come out and say it as well just to get some momentum going... McCarthy, Gamst, Warnock, Reid. We all know Matty, Brad, Tugay and dave Dunn are Rovers through and through but lets get behind the team. As they said in the film "Goal"... the name on the front of the shirt is much more important than the one on the back.
MikeyGamst
its like theyre all waiting to see who gets appointed befor ethey start stamping their feet
BomBom
Most will stay, they know Rovers are a good club to be at!!!
MajiRovers
i agree mate, this is all media hype as we are currently rudderless!
BomBom
It is gonna be a storm until after the new guy is appointed. We dont have a lot to worry about IMO.
