Nelsen Is A Rover For Sure

Blackburn captain Ryan Nelsen has pledged his future to Blackburn Rovers admist speculation he would move with Mark Hughes to Manchester City.

New Zealand defender Nelsen insists he is very happy at Ewood Park where he has a well-paying 5 year deal.

Speaking to the New Zealand press, Nelsen said 'I've got four years left at Blackburn and I am very loyal to them,'.

'They signed me on a five-year deal last year when they didn't have to. It's an industry where you can never say never but at the moment, I'm very happy.

'They're a good bunch of people at Blackburn and it's a good environment to be in.'

Nelsen also has had his say on potential new boss Alan Shearer -

'He was a big favourite as he should be,' he said. 'They still chant his name because he was fantastic for the club. But who am I to say who should be there?'

Mikey Says:

At a time when us Blackburn fans are feeling vulnerable and wary of who will go during a media onslaught trying to pick an easy target, how confidence boosting is it to here our captain speak these words...

Good work Ryan, this is what we want to hear more of.

Its ironic that now when Hughes got all those (dirty) money, who does he try to buy - half of the players he HAD at Blackburn...hmmm. Guess the increased wage was the prime reason for him to leave. Hughes - you are a sell out! And yes I'm aware that he could not bring the likes of Ronaldinho or Jo to Blackburn, partly because of their pricatag and wages!

Well said Admiral! It makes you wonder that Frank Sinatra at City could have saved himself alot of trouble and money if he just bought Rovers instead of city... he's now got our manager, coaching staff... will our players be next? Maybe but not Ryan!
