Hughes In The Running For Chelsea Job AGAIN!!!

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes is again on the shortlist to become the new manager at Chelsea following Avram Grant's sacking (as he was when Jose Mourinho left.)

Seeing Hughes' name in the running to take over other clubs is nothing new (and just goes to highlight what a superb job that he has been doing at Ewood Park) but personally I can't see him being the man for Chelsea at this point in time as I feel they will go for a bigger name than Hughes. Although Sparky a massive name in football terms of his reputation as a player, despite his stock rising all the time as a manager I don't quite feel it is big enough at this point in time for Chelsea, something that I'm MORE than happy with.

Sparky is currently 8-1 joint fourth favourite (along with Sven Goran Eriksson and Phil Scolari) with the bookmarkers behind favourite Frank Rijkaard, Roberto Mancini and Guus Hiddink.

The newspapers understand that no official approach has been made, and until such time Rovers WILL NOT be commenting on any speculation linking Sparky with the vacant post at Stamford Bridge.

I'm confident that we don't have much to worry about here, Sparky IS good enough for Chelsea, but he will not be the man for them this time I don't feel. Would Sparky even want the job with the way Chelsea seem to be treating their managers?!?!
Hughes Da Man
Could be looking at Sparky coming in with Zola to build a dynasty!
merlin
absolutely HDM, Roman Abramovich seems to want to much say at the club aswell!! plus with Fergie saying he will be gone in three years i feel he might stick wit us til then and seeabout moving on then!
durks de rover
Cant wait for Hughes to make his way to Chelsea as our manager :)
evoCFC
imo, we should go for a guy with CL exp (at least a semi-final)... i dont think Hughes qualifies for that... moreover, its totally a different scenario at chelsea with all the big players and the big responsibilities on the manager
bluebrain
by "we", i meant chelsea... but im really impressed with the way he is running things at blackburn
bluebrain
70% chance hughes will be the next cfc manager.
k_chelski
Speaking as a Villa fan all I can say is I know how yous feel when a so called bigger club comes knocking, people seem to think that they're entitled to take what they want.Hard luck on missing out on Europe,if these ''bigger'' clubs would have won the cups there would be more of us in there.

LOL, K_. :)

i think hughes is safe at blackburn...he will be the next man u manager though! As for chelsea, i reckon they will go for sven, whilst avram will go in the other direction...

Hughes always goes on about players honouring their contracts... it would be rather hypocritical of him. He wont leave. We are safe.

Between Hughes and Keane for Manure job but Chelski is a possibility

Mark Hughes is a lifelong fan of Chelsea, not Man U

I love the way people are just assuming he wants to leave Rovers. Stop being so ignorant. He has spent 4 years building a team here. he aint gonna just abandon that.
MikeyGamst
Sparky ain't goint anywhere. P E RI O D.!
diegoveron
I think there is a possibility he could go but I think Chelsea will plump with a bigger name. Still, maybe Chelsea are looking for a different approach?!?!?
roversman
Hopefully roversman... anything but a Sparky approach maybe?!?!
MikeyGamst
Who in their right mind would want that job. 2nd in 3 competitions and they still sack their manager. Plus having to deal with all those huge egos and players fighting with each other on the pitch(ahem). At least at Ewood Sparky is adored by all no matter how bad a run we are on. I would be gutted if he left us for Chelski.
del
I think we all would be Del but keep the faith.
MikeyGamst
Good points del. Who in the right mind is going to want the Chelsea managers job. By most clubs standards they have had a reasonably successful season, and the manager still gets sacked. So the new manager has to win something or he will go the same way. No pressure then.
