Ghaly Claims Rovers Approach

Hossam Ghaly has claimed Blackburn are after his signature following his loan spell at Derby.

The Egyptian midfielder has shunned a move to Derby County permanently after they were relegated with a record low Premier League points.

The 26-year-old wants to stay in the Premier League and admits he has offers from a number of clubs, in England and abroad.

'Blackburn want to sign me. I have offers from other Premier League sides in addition to a Hertha Berlin bid but I haven't chosen my next destination yet,' Ghaly told skysportsnews.

Ghaly is now back with Tottenham Hotspur but he is surplus to requirements there.

'I enjoy playing in the Premier League and I would love to stay there,' he added.

I am not sure what to make of this... sure he is talented but has he the right attitude???
MikeyGamst
I'm with you Mikey. Not even sure that he is that talented.
roversman
I think he is better than some suggest as he put in a good showing against us at Ewood this season... however attitude remains suspect.
MikeyGamst
Hes a decent player but a bit of a prima donna whinger, Italy is the perfect place for him, not ewood park!
BomBom
The only attitude u have to worry about is that of a versatile hard hungry full of potential Central Midfielder. Think he showed attitude any team will want when he had his teeth kicked in and still played. Blackburn A Great place for him AND SURE HE WILL GIVE YOU HIS ALL .
pharo
No dn't want him not evry good rubbish attitude will upset the camp, alrady trying to do it with this speculation, dont want him at all.
roverjoy
Oh God, I was there watching Rovers at White Hart Lane when he threw his shirt on the floor in front of Jol and marched down the tunnel. I thought he was a cretin then and my opinion still hasn't changed. Still, he might not join, he might take one look at our training methods and decide we're not good enough ala Birmingham.
Blacheburne
I cant imgine that Rovers would want him, Maybe its a smokescreen on the long term target ( if you believe the papers ) of Huddlestone. He must have talent but I dont think he's the kind of midfielder we need, we are desperate for a creative one, just something different at times to change the play
Clint
James Harper from Reading anyone???
MikeyGamst
James Harper? You have got to be kidding!! On the topic of Ghaly, I think he is a good player. Love the comments from Pharo - I take it you are Egyptian, I know from my holiday there last year that you all think the world of him and Mido and some even seemed offended when I suggested that Mido was overweight and unfit!! So I am not surprised by your comments - I dont think Brummies or the Cockneys woudl agree
Wellsy
Why not James Harper??? good box to box midfielder, young, potential... not too expensive.
MikeyGamst
Because he offers nothing that we don't already have - he would be no more than a squad player.
Wellsy
I respect your opinion Wellsy but I beg to differ. Would give us the extra verve needed and compliment a holding player very well. He is a goal scoring midfielder when playing for a top 7-8 side who would score 10 a season... none of our CM's have managed that this season. what we miss from the middle of the park is a steady goalscorer.
MikeyGamst
We look at Ghaly while our rivals look at Sidwell shows why Villa finished above us this season.
roverjoy
If Villa are willing to spend £7 Million on a player Chelsea got for free 11 months ago, and has hardly played all season, i say let them.
Blacheburne
I agree - £7m on Sidewell is ridiculous for an average player - you could get the same player in France or Spain for £2m
Wellsy
A figure of 2.5 Million for Ghaly seems to be floating around the web at the moment, which is about 1 Million too much.
Blacheburne
pharo - are you Ghaly's agent? I saw him get his teeth kicked out, and I think when playing he is fairly good, I think Hughes could sort his attitude problem out too - the question is do we need him? He can play right wing back or centre mid. I haven't seen enough of him to know how good he is, only the flashpoints in his career! If Hughes wants him, I trust his judgment.
