Tugay Offered Another Year!!

Great News, Kerimoglu Tugay has been offered a new contract....but it gets better!

According to a tiny snippet in the Daily Mail, Rovers have offered the 37-year-old midfielder a one year contract that includes......wait for it..... a role coaching Rovers' youngsters.

This is great news and will be even more so if he signs the contract as we will then have him passing on his jedi like skills to the younger players coming through at Blackburn.

Now it all depends on how strong the pull of his native Turkey is as, has been reported prior, Tugay has stated that he wanted to end his career there and possibly go into coaching in Turkey.

If he accepts this deal then all I can say is Thank You Tugay and Well Done Rovers!!!

When I saw this news today, it has put a smile on my face and unless he doesn't sign it, that smile will last long into the summer! Just to echo what I think most, if not all of us are thinking......YES!!!!!!!!

Yeah this is great news! Would love to see him do his magic with the youngsters. And according to The Nirror there are also a sensible economy in this deal - a low pay and big appearance money. We must be realistic! I see this as a great deal for the club and Tugay - lets hope he doesnt leave for Turkey...bet Galatasaray will break the bank to get him back. Its not only in england that he is a living legend!!

I cant see Gala breaking the bank to get him back TBH but if they match the offer on the table from Rovers, it would be very interesting to see how and where the pendulum swings.

This is fantastic news. I think we all know the kind of impact he could have on a coaching role here at Ewood. Smile on my face too.... anyone upset by this!?!??! didnt think so.

True BomBom - breaking the bank might be pushing it :-) But you catch my drift? :-)

Tugay has also been quoted that he would like to end his playing career at Rovers but said nothing about after, I hope he does stay as I have always said, he's just to damned good to let go!!

I think that the only thing that Rovers do not have going for them from Tugay's point of view is that Blackburn isnt in Turkey. IMO Rovers as a club and as a team win hands down in Every way, except maybe the support. The Ultraslan are a very very passionate support group!

I think he'll stay with us for one more year. If we can get him into the coaching role as well then all the better.
