Hughes Pleased To Have Something To Play For

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes is pleased that Rovers still have something to play for when they take on Birmingham on Sunday.

At the moment it is just an outside chance, but should Rovers beat Birmingham and Aston Villa lose at West Ham United it would be a sixth place finish, and with it a UEFA Cup spot (via the Intertoto Cup of course). Hughes knows that all Rovers can do is play their part, and hopefully that will be enough, but whatever happens he is happy with our season, and how it's gone.

Hughes said: "We just have to deal with what we can deal with, and make sure we do our part of things.

"We've got one game to go, there's three points up for grabs, and who knows what will happen on the last day of the season?

"There are always twists and turns and we may pinch a place.

"But irrespective of what happens on Sunday, we've still had an outstanding season.

"We've never been out of the top 10 all year, which is unbelievable really
."

It has been an outstanding season whatever might happen at St Andrews on Sunday, we might miss out on the UEFA Cup but strides have been made forward once again as the Premier League is getting tougher, so to even stay in the chasing pack takes some quality, and Rovers have that in abundance.

All we can do is win, if we win it MIGHT be enough, either way we can look back on the season and be happy. I know I will anyway!!!

Think you need to check your title! Glad to hear Hughes pleased with the season - I think we've done really well, and European qualification would be the icing on the cake!

It is another season of progress and I think we can be pleased with the outcome but if we can sneak into the Intertoto spot then its job done.
