VBer End Of Season Awards!

VBer End Of Season Awards!

The 2007-2008 is drawing to a close, with it will come the end of season Vital Blackburn Rovers Awards.

We ran this last year and the response was SUPERB, so hopefully with YOUR help again, through your continued comments and votes in polls (if necessary) we are going to be looking for the best and worst form the 2007-2008 season.

Up for grabs will be such gongs as:
Player of the Season
Young Player of the Season
Most Improved Player of the Season
Goal of the Season
Friedel's Save of the Season

We will also be looking for those accolades players will not want, including:
Worst Goal Conceded of the Season
Worst Rovers Performance of the Season
Player least missed this Season (injured or sold)

As well as sparing a thought for those other than Rovers, including:
Best Team faced by Rovers this Season
Worst Team faced by Rovers this Season
Best Goal scored against Rovers this season

More information on the 2007-2008 Vital Blackburn Awards will be COMING SOON, so stay tuned!!! As VBers (Vital Blackburners) I'm sure that we will ALL want to take part.

The response was amazing last season, unfortunately the threads in the forum had to be removed and replaced with fresh ones this season, but the problem has been corrected (my error) so hopefully next season we will just be able to use these again, which was my original plan. Start voting WHEN you want, but the links will be published probably tomorrow.

Player of the Season - Roque Santa Cruz for settling in so well, and quickly. Young Player of the Season - Matty Derbyshire, does well when he comes on. Never gives up. Most Improved - Brett Emerton. Can play anywhere. His link up and understanding with Bentley down the right was spot on. Goal of the Season - Matty Derbyshire v Newcastle. It's always good to see the Geordies cry! Save of the Season - v Man Utd, when he was going the other way, and stuck out a big right hand and deflected it round the post. Worst Goal Conceded - One of the ones against Villa at home. Worst Performance - Any one of our first halves! Player Least Missed - Reid. Not really added much upon his return. Best Team Faced - Villa at Ewood. Worst Team Faced - Derby at Ewood. Goal of the Season - Santa Cruz, can't remember who it was against. Cross field ball from Reid, beautifully controlled by Bentley, whose first touch took him delightfully away from the full back, cross in to Cruz's head, who scored. A lovley bit of play

Santa's first goal against Middlesbrough - got him off the mark, got the team three points, put us in the top ten and we never dropped out! Great start to the season

I already have an incling here as to my picks... looking forward to as last years was a riot. I may just pick Reidy as player of the year purely to annoy Bom Bom.
