Roque: I Am Settled And Happy Where I Am

Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz has ONCE AGAIN committed his future to the club.

Santa Cruz has spoken of his surprise at having such a superb debut season in England, as he is so used to having major injuries (which were a frequent occurrence with Bayern Munich), which often set him back, but as he hasn't had them here he has been able to flourish.

Santa Cruz told Sky Sports: "I am surprised I have scored that many goals - I have never played a whole season completely and I didn't expect it.

"Things have been good for me because I am getting support from my manager and supporters
."

His goal scoring exploits are CONSTANTLY seeing him linked with others clubs (including Manchester United) but he once again insisted that he is more than happy at Ewood Park and has NO desire to move on.

He added: "The team wants to become better and I can identify myself with that, and people who want to become better - that is how I think.

"I have three-years more contract, and I am settled and happy where I am and I think our team can become stronger, I am happy and so there is nothing to think of
."

Hopefully this will end all the rumours ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!

How many times does Santa have to tell the world that he is HAPPY AT EWOOD PARK before people believe him, he wants to stay, we want him to stay its quite simple really isn't it!!!
Hughes Da Man
He seems committed to stay. Great news for you!
Fan of Blues
thats gr8 news. hes bin amazing 4 us this season and if benni gets back to form, what a partnership 4 next season!

Great man hopefully won't get affected by all the speculation, he has been at te big clubs and didnt succed so might have learnt from those experiences.

Getting really p***ed off with all this speculation and rovers players now. I can kind of understand it when it is speculation linking them to big clubs but when the players are being linked to clubs in and around us( Santa Cruz to Man City) then it starts to become a little insulting. Just because we haven't got a 50,000 seater stadium or we aren't packing out Ewood every week does not make us a small club or a feeder club for supposedly bigger clubs like City,Spurs or Newcastle.Which club outside the top three has won a premiership or has being run so successfully on such a small budget. Just pack the speculation in or at least start to show us some respect and link us to some of their top players when you are printing your lies. Phew. Feel better after that

We've consistantly finished above City and Newcastle over the last number of years so why would any of our players want to step down a level. They have a much greater chance of playing European football at Ewood Park than at a lot of the so called 'bigger clubs' so I agree, it is insulting and it just highlights the fact that the media continue to refuse to recognize the progress that's been made here under Sparky!

Jeez, it just goes on doesn't it? Where are the same messages being said by Bentley??
Wellsy
Great points made Del and Spinaker - why do these 'big' clubs think they have a right to take our players just because they have the money and big stadiums? If anything our club proves that the spurs, newcastles etc waste an incredible amount of money... maybe they should use that money to develop talent or put it into reduced ticket prices.

Agreed Wellsy! I don't think Bentley will go as Hughes wants to keep him. But it would be nice for him to state 'Iain't going anywhere!'

bentley swings it in n santa cruz nods it in itll be the same next season cant wait!

This statment coupled with Hughes' insistence that his best players arent being sold will see Santa in a Blackburn shirt next season. Really good news for the club as Roque is a cracking player... our striking options are already looking great for next season... maybe just a few additions in midfield and in defence at right back maybe???
