Stars sign new contracts!!!!

With the end of season holidays approaching, Blackburn appear to have taken the first step into the long term future of the club, securing 3 star players to new contracts which will keep the at the club until the Summer of 2012.

Former Liverpool Left fullback, Steven Warnock, explosive striker, Matt Derbyshire, and future prospect, Martin Olsson, have all pledged there future to the clubs, signing new contracts.

When intervewed by the BBC, Warnock said,
'It is a massive thing to be offered a new contract and when you see how the club is progressing, then you want to be a part of that - and things are going well, so I can't really argue,'

This is a fantastic piece of work by Blackburn, securing the long term future of the club with the extension of the contracts these fantastic players. Hopefully a few more will sign on in the coming weeks

Most people reckon he's gonna move on in the summer, and he's said nothing yet to suggest that he wont, but fingers crossed. I hope he signs a new deal, I don't think we can afford to lose him yet. He's been a big big player for us this season and I've no doubt he'll be even better next year.

its good to see that the younger players at the club can see the progression and are looking forward to a career at Rovers. Bentley will be interesting in the summer with Liverpool and Spurs possibly fighting it out for him with £20m being quoted by some in the tabloids, maybe this will make folk argue with me but £20m would be very hard to turn down, granted should we get an offer and should a club pay that much, but I still think that Darren Bent can go for £16m from a championship club then Bentley can and should make more!!

If he is sold... and i can't see it happening... we need a replacement. He has been excellent this season and it's credit to him and the club that teams are interested. I think he'll see sense and sign again - otherwise if he goes he may end up like Jermain Pennant - a bit part squad player, which is the reason he left Arsenal and signed for us in the first place!
