Hughes: We Were Comfortable Winners

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes felt that Rovers were worthy winners over Derby County on Saturday.

Rovers came from behind against Derby after Kenny Miller put them ahead, with goals from Roque Santa Cruz, Jason Roberts and a second from Santa Cruz to see Rovers through to a 3-1 victory. This was a victory that keeps the UEFA Cup chances alive via the Intertoto Cup, and a victory that Hughes thought was well deserved.

Hughes told the BBC: "We've never been out of the top 10 all season and for a club of our size that is a huge achievement.

"Derby pegged us back in the first half and worked extremely hard to get themselves in front.

"We came out for the second half with a lot more drive and purpose and were comfortable winners
."

With respect to Derby we shouldn't have really been troubled with this match anyway should we, but we were well worth the win. ONE more and it might be enough for us to make the Intertoto Cup!!!

We are right back in it now arent we... Wigan did us the favour we needed and we helped ourselves in the end.

Yer stil gonna have to be results our way, need a win tho at birmingham will be a toughy that will.

At least we're in with a shout though eh?? thats the main thing.

I think Villa play a team that have nothing to play for on Sunday, so I have to say we have the harder game. Birmingham need 3 points, and they are at home, so they will be fighting for everything. It won't be easy, but you have to remember that Birmingham are down there for a reason, namely, they aren't very good.

Are Villa playing West Ham away? Tough game. Birmingham will be a test for us too. But all we can do is concentrate on our game and see what will be.

Good game against Derby too. Roque and Roberts could have had more. Savage was given a good reception, which he well deserved.

Yeah Roberts looked good on Saturday, he really should have scored at least another, especially that one-on-one, what was he thinking?

I like Derby but 3-1 didnt tell the whole story of the game esecially in the 2nd half!! Roberts should have buried his chances
