'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Santa Makes Blackburn Pledge

Roque Santa Cruz has done a terrific job this season, bagging over 20 goals. But next season he reckons he will be even better...

The Paraguayan international has been one of the success stories of the season following his move from Bayern Munich in the summer. Many reckon he is actually the bargain of the season having cost £3.3 million, which lets face it, is a paltry sum for such a talented forward.

'I'm very happy with my performance this season,' Santa Cruz told the Lancashire Telegraph. 'To score 20 goals in my first season is a big thing for me because I know how hard it is to score goals here.

'I'm very happy that I've been able to achieve it. I've always watched English football and I know it's hard to hit that mark. But I still came here wanting to get 20 goals and I'm pleased that I have done it.

'I think next year I will feel even better because I have never had the kind of season I've had this year. I've also got the strength to become a better player, so I believe there's more to come.'

Good to hear that from the pretty boy. Your welcome to do better next season... more than welcome.

Still trying that one merlin... nice try. But he's far too good for that!!!

Merlin, no one is that idiotic to accept that offer. ;) Great news for you. Buy of the season without a doubt!

i think hes been our player of the season by a long shot this year, hes got so much about his game its a almost unreal, especially for £3.3 mil. brilliant stuff! lets just now go and get jimmy bullard!!!!!!!!1

Since Chelsea already throwing in Pizarro and Ben Haim... how about take Riise with that, and come to the RED part Merseyside instead :)

If Santa does even better next season we'll have a screamer as hopefully Benni will fire on all cylinders as well, and Derbs will be FULLY fit as well?
Hughes Da Man
It does sound promising. He is obviously enjoying his time at Rovers and suggestions of a move are ignorant.

Roque has had a great debut season so far - hoping he'll bang in a few more in the last two games. I think it's quite sad though that these top clubs wait and see if a player can cut it then go in for a steal... even the fans offer their other sh@te players as an incentive! Why can't they go out and find their own players rather than poaching ours!

were happy with him! all the best with shevchenko! the clearance he did was the best thing he done all season
