Sparky Needs More Money To Spend

Sparky Needs More Money To Spend

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes has given his STONGEST hint yet that he NEEDS more finances to strengthen the Rovers squad this Summer.

Hughes has had to work to a tight budget during his tenure at Ewood Park, but even so he has managed to sign some World-Class performers for next to nothing (with some EVEN costing nothing!!!) but he can't be expected to keep doing this season after season as it'll become harder and harder to pick up these bargains that will allow Rovers to grow.

Hughes told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: "We have done well over the last two or three years to bring in the right quality of players at the right price and they have always performed for us.

"However, it becomes harder and harder because when we flag players up, other clubs take note and understand that if we are interested then they must be good players
."

I have been saying for SOME TIME that Sparky is going to find it harder and harder to keep bringing in the bargains that will allow Rovers to grow. He may well be able to keep finding them, but they will become harder and harder for him to do so (and for so cheap with such quality) so he MUST be given funds this Summer or Rovers WON'T be able to grow as Sparky has got them growing.

SHOW SPARKY THE MONEY!!! If Sparky isn't given sufficient funds this Summer then Rovers WILL be left behind. It looks like we will miss out on the UEFA Cup next season so UNLESS Sparky has enough funds to attract quality then we could miss out again next season, and a second season without European Football WILL see players move on (which might even happen this Summer?!?!)

I think I may go for Nelsen on the back next year as God would be slightly blastphomous. with regards to the article, if we dont show Hughes the money we will get left behind and speed up his departure from Ewood... not that Im expecting him to go straight away obviously!!!

I agree we need to spend some money but i don't think we have a bad squad at the minute. Plenty of cover in central midfield with Vogel,Reid,Dunn,Mokoena and Tugay. Emerton and Bents for the right. Four good strikers (when they are all on form) and good cover in central defense with Andre and the monk. I would like to see us buy a good attacking right back and someone who can fill in for Warnock but who can also play down the left of midfield and put some pressure on Morten. Unless we are going to replace some of the players we have with better quality I cant really see what else we need. Also can we not bring through some youth players if we are short of cash. What about Treacy and De Vita. Seem to hear so much about our youth players but not getting to see any.

Now theres a thought Whitey, I dont know if everton have entered. If Villa finish in 5th and even pompey in 6th, if we can grab 7th or 8th, especially if Everton havent applied we could sneak in!!! Anyone know how to find out?
