'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jason Roberts On Vogel & Cruz

Jason Roberts reveals why he rates Johann Vogel so highly and says that his partnership with Roque Santa Cruz is looking dangerous.

Johann Vogel has come in for us and made an impressive debut against Spurs. He's exactly the sort of experienced player who can come in and make a difference. He's played for Milan, Real Betis and PSV so he knows what it's like at some of the biggest clubs in Europe. He's a player who can keep the ball. He's very technically gifted. In the big games you want players of quality and experience. He has both of those in buckets. It's a bonus that David Dunn's back and looking fit and up for it as well.

Since coming back from injury I've been pretty pleased with my own performances. I want to keep working hard and improving all the time. My partnership up front with Roque Santa Cruz is coming together nicely. He's a great guy to work with; very; very good.

Not sure Vogel should be getting such praise at the moment if he playes against United will most likely show what he is capable of and if he can hack it in the premiership

I think Vigel has done ok but nothing to shout about. Maybe he'll show more today??? As for Santa, what a player.

Santa rocks. JR rocks - he gives commitment in bucketloads every time he comes onto the field - if only BM gave the same. Vogel's doing fine. In Sparkey we trust.
