In a slow start to the day (news wise), Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has admittedhe would jump at the chance to bring Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes to Ewood Park, if they decided to move on in the pursuit of first team football.
The veteran Manchester United duo are no longer guaranteed first-team action in every game for the Old Trafford outfit as Sir Alex Ferguson has recently purchased the quality Anderson and silky yet morbidly arrogant Nani.
In the last few days, there have been suggestions that Giggs and Scholes could head down the League in the closing stages of their career to get more chances.
And former United striker Hughes, who played alongside the duo during his second spell with the Red Devils, knows they would fit in wel at Ewood if the opportunity presented itself.
Hughes told Sky Sports: 'If players like Giggs and Scholes came on the market, then everybody would be interested, irrespective of age.
'They have the capacity to affect games at Premier League level.'
And Hughes is hoping to be afforded more transfer funds to invest in the squad in the summer to keep Rovers among the clubs challenging for regular European football.
He added: 'We have done well in the last two or three years to be able to bring the right quality at the right price and they have always been able to produce for us. I have got to keep on doing that.
'We need a little bit more investment this year than we possibly have in recent years just to make sure that we keep going in the right direction.
'We will need funds to keep adding to the squad.
'There is a group of Premier League clubs in that middle tier and in any given year you can be top of that pile or at the bottom of it and it is important we stay at the top of it.'
Bit of gossip for you there guys, don't say I don't spoil you.
