Rovers Target Championship Trio?!?!

Blackburn Rovers are today being linked with a trio of Championship footballers according to the newspapers.

One newspaper is saying that James Beattie is a striker that Mark Hughes would like to bring back to Ewood Park for a fee in the region of £5 million!!! Beattie might have scored plenty of goals in the Championship but it is hardly the Premier League is it!!! Beattie's Sheffield United team-mate Michael Tongue is another name being bounced around the newspaper world, with the blades midfielder being touted with an Ewood switch for £3 million.

The most interesting of all are further links with Crystal Palace's England Under-21 International Tom Soares, however the 22-year-old insists that he remains fully committed to Palace despite the links he has heard about.

Soares told he Croydon Advertiser: "Obviously it's brilliant when you hear that Premiership clubs are interested in you - but I just want to concentrate on Palace.

"If I keep working hard things will take care of themselves - but first things first, I want to help Palace get promoted.

"I'm confident I've got what it takes to be a Premiership player - but this is where I want to be at the moment
."

Beattie doesn't interest me, Tongue has the potential but Soares is the one that I would REALLY like to see us bring to Ewood this summer, and this is the move I can MOST see coming off.

Soares is probally the most likely to move to you guys, and he would be a good signing, as he is still young and can improve.

Beattie is a good lad but not what we need. Tongue too is a decent player but he hasn't fulfilled that potential so again I would say no! Soares though is so highly rated I would be happy to see this one come off. Although not for too much.

Would welcome Tom Soares, but i definately dont want Beattie back or Tongue.

I'd rather we got Koumas, he would suit Rovers well with his abilities. I would not like to see any of the trio above join Rovers - they would not add anything to the squad. I'd also like to see us go for Huddlestone but he seems to be back in favour at the Spuds.

Beattie cant cut in the Premier League it has been proven, Tonge would've left Utd a couple of yrs ago if he could maintain any form, 1 goal this season aint good enuff and Soares has potential but that it, never seen a lot of him to judge.

Well I would love to get Tom Soares as he is Palace's best player. Beattie might be worth a punt IF he was free!!! And Tongue having met him 3 times is not that good and is the most arrogant boring man on the planet... please god no.

I was hoping we would get him all those years ago when West Brom got him from Tranmere (I believe), I saw him play a few times when he was at Tranmere and you could see the quality. Unfortunatly (like many players) he seemed to fall out with Bryan Robson and rotted for while, before being shipped to Cardiff on load where he shone again and then earned his palce back in the Baggies team (shone again) and earned his move to Wigan.
