Hughes: We'll Give Liverpool A Game

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes is not fearing Liverpool at all, quite the opposite as he feels they will see this as one of the most difficult League matches of the season.

Going to Anfield isn't easy for any side but Hughes is sending his troops to Liverpool on Sunday with NO FEAR, and is going looking for all three points!!! Sparky knows it'll be a tough match for Rovers but he ALSO knows it'll be the same for Liverpool. Both sides need to win, Liverpool to secure their Champions League place for next season and Rovers merely to aid the quest for UEFA Cup football again, be this via the competition outright or via the Intertoto Cup.

Hughes told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: "Liverpool will know it is a difficult fixture in their calendar.

"We take pride in the fact that people view us as a difficult team to overcome
."

Liverpool had a tough Champions League Quarter-Final with Arsenal at Anfield on Wednesday Evening, and although Sparky know that Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has the players to cope with this he also hopes that they can suffer some fatigue (if we are lucky Benitez's rotation policy will get the better of him as well!!!)

He added: "They've got the resources to cope with the amount of games that they are involved in, but we hope to catch them on a poor day, we'll play well - I'm sure we will - because we invariably do when we go to Anfield, we'll certainly give it our best shot as we always do."

Liverpool followed by Manure, not the fixtures you would want really are they but WHY shouldn't we be able to give BOTH a game?!?! We now know that we are at the point of the season where we MUST be winning matches, it would set us up VERY nicely for the Manure match if we can beat Liverpool.

we can do it, i hope liverpool just gave it too much against arsenal and we can demolish them

I'd be very worried if the players weren't up for giving Liverpool a game, at the moment we're having to win as many games as possible and this Liverpool game is surely winnable, the Man Utd I would be very happy with a draw considering the form that they are in at the moment, despite the fact that they drew with Boro

I know what we desire but 2 points out of 6 for me will be good any more then we are laughing..

Just had a look of Villas remaining games: Derby, Birmingham (like us), Everton, Wigan, Hammers....hmmm. Blackburn remaining games: Liverpool, United, Portsmouth, Derby, Birmingham Looks bad doesnt it.
redstarman
Not neccessarily redstar... VIlla have a tendancy to slip against the lowerplaced teams. It isnt over till its over and if we can come out in a good position after Liverpool and Man U then I think we are favourites.
MikeyGamst
Agreed! but we'll need at least 1 win from those two games.

Villa didn't slip up against Derby did they, I would much rather have their run-in than ours but as Mikey would say "keep the faith!!!"
Hughes Da Man
Well we didn't exactly give them a game did we. Only looked threatening when we were 2-0 down!
roversman
REALLY disappointed by todays performance, the result I can deal with, the performance NOT! We didn't give them a game at all really did we.
