Tugay Eager To Stay At Ewood Park

Blackburn Rovers legend Tugay has expressed his desire to sign a new one-year contract to stay at Ewood Park.

The veteran 37-year-old will ONCE AGAIN be out of contract in the summer (as he would've been for about the past four summers or so!!!) so unless he agrees a new one his love affair with Rovers (at least as a player) would finally end, but Tugay himself has expressed his desire to stay for (at least) another year.

Tugay said: "I'm very happy at Blackburn and love the club and the fans so, of course, I would like to say here for another year."

Some thoughts had been that the Maestro had maybe wanted to return to Turkey so didn't want to stay with Rovers anyway, so at least we seem able to put an end to that suggestion. Get a contract in front of him RIGHT away I say, he might not be able to play as many matches as he once did but his influence at the club would make him worth EVERY penny of the contract.

Give him a deal for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He still has a bit left in the tank and at 37 he would'nt be commanding serious wages. I'd like to see him stay another season at least. Sparky would want to consider signing his replacement in the Summer though.

He can stay for as long as he wants. I dont care if the legs have gone,... just having him around gives everyone a lift.
MikeyGamst
just get him on for corners, he is bound to put 1 in
sasman
sign him immediately as if you don;t someone else might like us (Hee Hee)

It has been said before that he needs to stay at Blackburn after his career has finished. His experience and knowledge to pass on on to the youngsters, in particular, cannot be bought, even if his role is that of an ambassador, as opposed to coach...

TUGAY, TUGAY! 4 more years!

Give him a deal too much of a legend to let go, great for the youngsters and played loads last season, not as much this but last season proved he can do it!!
roverjoy
Totally agree - keep him even if it means hes to become a coach... what a coach to have in you back-room staff

I think we all agree that he's not "that bad" so just about worth keeping lol!
Hughes Da Man
Yeah we'l file him under the "not too bad" category. ;)

I would keep him on no problem at all - every midfield player in the squad must watch him in awe, his legs have gone but then that was never a worry with Tugay anyway. I hope he gets offered a coaching role at Rovers, should this be an avenue he'd want to explore as well rite enuff, it would important for future squads to learn from one the better midfielders that the Premier League has seen in his position

oh my god u remember that goal against fulham! this guy is genius! he undersdtands technique has determination of a predator and his passing is 2nd to none meanin = we should sign up! and find a player like him! arsenal have done that ! van persie = bergkamp , adebayor = kanu, walcott = henry
Rikin5
keep him till he dies, then bury him under the centre circle. TU-GAY!!!
martinr
