Emerton A Fitness Doubt

Blackburn Rovers right-back (and sometime right-midfielder) Brett Emerton is likely to miss the match with Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

Having missed the draw with Fulham a week earlier Emerton limped off at half time during the defeat to West Ham United on Saturday with what has now been confirmed by Mark Hughes as a recurrence of his groin injury, the same injury that ruled him out of the Fulham match.

Hughes told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: "Brett had a recurrence of his groin injury so had to come off."

Should Emerton miss the match with Wigan then he is almost certain to be pulled out of the Australian squad for their latest World Cup Qualifier with China on 26th of Match.

This is an unwanted set-back, but we have players capable of filling in at right-back, and some might argue capable of doing a better job in that position?!?!
Hughes Da Man
Ooijer or Zurab can fill this role...Probably Ooijer, and Zurab in the in the middle...
Decimus Poole
Sounds about right dude, God should be back soon, which is also a HUGE bonus.
Hughes Da Man
I would maybe put Reid there, he has played there already for us i believe, he has the pace that Zurab and Andre dont have, oojie is better in the middle where his reading of the game comes into play.
Clint
Not Zurab. He is not a right back as the Man City game proved. The next best bet for right back could be Nolan??? anyone else agree.
MikeyGamst
i would like to see Nolan there as well, it has been said that he's a talent so let's see him on the pitch - I had forgot about him rite enuff. I agree that Zurab is better in the middle as well, always was even at Rangers.
