Transfer Rumour To Make You Laugh

he latest round of rumours regarding David Bentley are getting more and more laughable!

Not satisfied with linking Chelsea and Liverpool, the latest round of 'creative journalism' has....Ready for it?

Not only one but TWO clubs have allegedly declared an interest.

The first club being....Aston Villa. So Villa have had one decent season and all of a sudden are capable of competing for the signature of one of the best, most promising English players in the league? Funny!

The Second club is even better however. They being the mighty......Newcastle United!!!

I mean, come on! Seriously?

Good god, I can come up with more believable rumours than that!

For example, Giant killing Barnsley are rumoured to be interested in signing Frank Lampard this summer as he is due to leave alongside numerous others in a mass clear out at Chelsea. Providing the deal is right for both clubs, it could also see Drogba join Lamps playing at Oakwell next year.

See total crap but, in this reporters opinion anyhow, more believable than the current crop of rubbish being disseminated.

Time will tell but, for Rovers and our sakes, lets hope Bentley gets that new contract inked!!!

Yeah laughable, although the Villa one aint THAT laughable. They are doing things right over there and building for the future. However, I don't believe they are much bigger than us. Can't see Bents going!

No, if Bents leaves it will be to one of the Big4. Agree with Roversman, I did'nt find the Villa link funny either. People forget that they have a billionaire owner in Randy Lerdner, they are well capable of matching any bid for Bents made by one of the Big4. I would'nt think he would swap Blackburn for Villa, but they have serious financial mussle now and that can't be underestimated.

The reason I found the Villa link amusing was mainly due to the fact that they have had one good season, whereas we are now a reestablished top half team with european asperations. Granted they have the money to throw at Bentley but we have a better manager than them IMO. It would be, in my estimation, a step down/backwards for David. Just my $0.02.

I'm not too sure - O'Neill is amassing quite a few young English players at Villa, and his buying seems to state that they want to or will be top 4 next season - they only need to match Liverpool and Everton currently to become top 4. I wouldn't have thought Bently would go... but saying that I got his name on my shirt and whenever that happens they go and I end up getting a new shirt!
