Brilliant Bentley In Actim Top 10

Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Bentley made the most of a low-scoring week at the top end of the Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Barclays Premier League, to move back into the top 10.

Bentley's 19-point haul in the 1-0 win against Newcastle was enough to see him move up two places to ninth overall, leapfrogging Benjani and Fernando Torres in the standings and being out-scored by only Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand in the top 10.

It was also a good weekend for Rovers goalkeeper Brad Friedel, who was the top-ranked stopper in this week's Index, earning 24 points for his performance to move up into 26th place overall.

Friedel made 12 saves during the game to earn his clean sheet, his second-highest return in a match this term, beaten only to the 13 he pulled off in the draw with Chelsea back in September.

Analysis of all Premiership games is taking place throughout the season and the players in the Actim Index Team of the Week are:

Name/Team/Position/Match Score

Brad Friedel,Blackburn Rovers, Goalkeeper, 24

Ashley Cole, Chelsea, Defender, 35

Fabio Aurelio, Liverpool, Defender, 32

John Terry, Chelsea, Defender, 24

James McEveley, Derby County, Defender, 24

James Harper, Reading, Midfielder, 41

Joe Cole, Chelsea, Midfielder, 38

Michael Ballack, Chelsea, Midfielder, 33

Owen Hargreaves, Manchester United, Midfielder, 33

Mikael Forssell,Birmingham City, Striker, 69

Ayegbeni Yakubu, Everton, Striker, 50

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player`s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards.

Bradders in the team (along with former Rover McEveley I see!) and Bents making inroads into the overall top ten is superb news.

Bents in the top ten is a true testament to the man himself and how outside of Ronaldo he is the best right midfielder in the Premier League.

Bentley is good and I hope you can hold on to him but don't you worry about the foreign interest?
