Emerton/Friedel Top Rovers Defender

Vital Blackburn's most recent Poll asked, "Defender/Keeper of the Month for February?" We voted in favour of Brett Emerton & Brad Friedel.

For the second month running Emerton has been voted the Defender of the Month, but he has to share this with Friedel, 26% each sees them share the Defender of the Month for February so they take their places in the grand final shortly to determine the Vital Blackburn Player of the Month.

Zurab Khizanishvili's 23% sees him finish in third place, but he just misses out on the overall Player of the Month poll taking place soon.

Andre Ooijer (15%), Bruno Berner (4%), Stephen Warnock (3%), & Christopher Samba (3%) completed the poll.

So in summary
Bruno Berner - 4%
Brett Emerton - 26%
Brad Friedel - 26%
Zurab Khizanishvili - 23%
Andre Ooijer - 15%
Christopher Samba - 3%
Stephen Warnock - 3%

As the search for Februarys Player of the Month continues the current poll is asking, "Midfielder of the Month for February?" Who will join Brett Emerton & Brad Friedel? You decide.

The Monk VERY nearly managed to make it into the final vote, unfortunately he was JUST sqeezed out by Sas's boy Emerton and the SUPERB Bradders.
Hughes Da Man
Sas'll be delighted with this. Good work Emo and as usual... good work Brad.
MikeyGamst
Well done Emerton - hopefully, again, people will lay off him when he has a bad game instead of demanding a right-back and saying he isn't good enough.
FreidelNo.1
well said FN1.

My boy emo on fire of late, and no i did not flood the votes lol. EMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sasman
But he isnt good enough week in and week out FFS! He has improved yes but i would still like to see Emo further up the park where he CANNOT get caught out of position or give silly penalties away. I can see Emo moving inside to the middle of the park later in his career anyhow so....
BomBom
If he does that then where does it leave Bents?!?!
That is true though Bom, Emerton could quite possibly move into the middle couldn't he.
Hughes Da Man
Emo could play in the middle, however his best role simply just does not fit the system of the team
sasman
Emo played further up today and didnt track back enough. Emo has been consistent thsi year and we have looked worse off without him this year. Well done Emo.
MikeyGamst
Sorry should of made that a bit clearer... he has been very consistent as a right back.
MikeyGamst
BomBom - how many and when were the last silly penalties that he gave away? I can't think of any.
