Derbs Facing Hernia Operation

Derbs Facing Hernia Operation

HDM's favourite son, Matt Derbyshire, is to have a hernia operation at the end of the season.

He has been training and playing with this issue for a while apparently and now faces the prospect of going under the knife in the off season.

Let's just hope that he can contribute further for the remainder of the season and come back fit and well for the next campaign.

Not the greatest loss if he has to go under before the end of the season as he hasnt really had the chance to shine this season (as i predicted before the season started Mr. HDM). Fingers x'd for a quick and full recovery.

Just hope this wont be a new "Matt Jansen hernia operation" - it just went downhill for him after that..crashing his bike and never really got back to fitness.

I agree, at this stage of the season - not really a big loss. To be honest I'm still not sure about this guy, ok he has potential but I cant see him ever becoming a regular in the first team, not for another few years anyway if even then, he reminds me a lot of Paul Gallagher in that he's just not good enough, physically or technically and I think his Rovers career will follow a similar path.

How dare you!!! (Only kidding dude, thats your opinion) I personally feel he's been criminally under-used this season (but I suppose I would wouldn't I seen as I'm probably his biggest fan lol!)

Not sure I agree with you there Spinaker matey. Derbs has the potential for sure but he has a natural goalscorers instinct and strength that Gally doesnt have. He will go far.

LOL, I knew you would'nt like that HDM, I know you rate him highly as does Mikey but I just dont see it happening for him at Rovers. Sparky will continue to use him in a bit-part role again next season, of that I'm certain!

Im sorry to say that I have to agree with Spinny here. Unless we lose one of the starting 2 strikers, Derbs is facing a season of supersubbing again.

I think as lng as he stays away from the injuries that have plagued him this year he has the potential to dislodge one of them... maybe Benni.

Championship Cost Per Goal So Far In 2016/17

The end of the Championship campaign of 2016/17 is only a month and a bit away from fans across the country but as we go in to the remaining weeks of the campaign...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
