Hughes: We CAN Make The Top Six

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes remains confident that Rovers CAN make it into the top six this season, therefore make it into Europe once again next season.

Hughes believes that the break that we had in Florida made a HUGE difference (and it showed) in the 4-1 win over Bolton Wanderers at Ewood Park, but now he is expecting us to build on this and win the winnable matches we have coming up in March.

Hughes told Sky Sports: "We went away at just the right time and you saw the energy in our play.

"We came flying out of the blocks and that's what we wanted and the reason why we did it.

"It is going to take more points to get a European place than it has ever done but we'll keep going.

"We've got winnable games and if we can put pressure on by taking maximum points hopefully we'll get where we want to go
."

Sparky also had some words of praise for Bolton (and the 4-1 winning margin probably did flatter us) whom he feels WILL avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Hughes added: "I think in fairness they caused us a number of problems and will cause lesser teams than us more problems.

"It'll be difficult and it'll go right down to the wire but I think they're going to be fine
."

This was EXACTLY what we needed, and is a perfect way to end the Month, now we go into March with PLENTY of winnable matches, if we can win most (if not all) we'll be RIGHT in the European hunt, probably even leading the charge!!!

Gonna be tough, with possibly a record high in points required to claim the euro spots.
sasman
Its not as if we are not capable of achieving this though lads!
BomBom
It's going to be one hell of a scrap for the uefa spots.

Yer we are good enough and if we can keep that effort and performance up, with Benni and MGP playing well can do it !!!! Think MGP will have a good run now!!!
roverjoy
Well, fingers crossed, I just mentioned it in the forum, hope he catches fire now for the run in!

Unless it's a United-Chelsea FA cup final you might have to finish 5th. You've definately got the quality to do it but it's gonna be an almighty slug for it
Phartman87
Indeed 1 place has already been taken away by spurs winning the eufa (bah !??!) ;D
Bents4eng

There is a way in for us, we just NEED to make sure we take it!!!

I'd say if you didn't make the top six it'd be a disappointing season!

It's going to be hard to make the top six, but its by no means IMPOSSIBLE, not by a long shot!!!
