Mifsud Linked With Rovers

Blackburn Rovers are being linked with Coventry City striker Michael Mifsud.

The Maltese International shot to fame with two goals against Manchester United in this seasons Carling Cup (which knocked them out) and has so far scored 16 goals this season. These goals have brought with them apparent interest from Premier League clubs (with a £5 million price tag put on his head) and it is understood that Rovers are one of them. Mifsud is being quoted (through my old favourite, a mystery source close to the player) as saying he would be interested in a move to a Premier League club.

An apparent source close to Mifsud told the News of the World: "Michael is aware Premier League clubs are watching.

"While he is happy at Coventry, he wants to play at the highest level
."

Mifsud looks a good footballer, but I'm going to get straight to the point, I don't think he is worth £5 million, nor do I think Rovers will pay that type of money!!!

Personally I think this is just newspaper speculation, nothing more. I can't see us paying £5 million for him, he isn't worth £5 million for starters, plus Sparky would rather use this money on an established striker if he did, wouldn't he?!?!
Hughes Da Man
3.5mil=santa cruz, i think we would be mad to pay that kind of money for mifsud
durks de rover
lollll im sure it would not be 5 mill, just tabloid talk, i heard his contract runs up soon so who knows. Id rather we spent that money on Farfan
sasman
Sasman pushing home the targets!!! lol... I cant see us spending that much money on Mifsud.
MikeyGamst
There is no-way we are going to be spending £5m on a striker - especially with our accounts report that has just been released. Would he be that good in the Prem? He doesn't seem to score week-in week-out.
Wellsy
3.3 mill loss, no wonder why sparky had nothin to spend lol
sasman
Yup Lads, we're skint and Misfuds over priced! game over ;)
BomBom
When we could have bought Diarra for £5m but didn't why would we buy a Championship player for the same amount. Also, like Bom says we are struggling for cash atm and Mifsud is another example of the over-inflated market!
roversman
Very useful at that level but how many make the step up. If you want to spend £5m would like our David Nugent?
storagematt
I would snap your hands off for Nugent, although I'm sure he would prob go for less now considering.
roversman
diarra was asking for massive wages i think thats why we were scared of him
sasman
he's causing upset at pompey apparently as he is out ranking other earners at the club. I think the chairman and board need to start pushing for some investment asap.
MikeyGamst
You have to stick to you principles don't you you, but there will come a time when we need to bend these slightly!!!
Hughes Da Man
I'm not sure he's ready for the Premier League though!
