Olsson Set For New Deal

Blackburn Rovers are reportedly ready to offer pacy left back Martin Olsson his first professional contract.

The 19-year-old joined the Rovers academy at the start of 2006 from Swedish outfit Hogaborgs BK, and now provides cover for current left-back Stephen Warnock.

Olsson made his Premier League debut against Derby this season, and hopes to re-pay the faith shown in him by the Lancashire club.

'The club have believed in me all the time and I want to stay here.' Olsson told the Swedish press.

Mikey Thoughts

To be fair to Martin from what I have seen from him in the Premier League, UEFA and Carling Cup, he has what it takes. He is young and a big player for the future. He provides valuable cover in an area where historically we are pretty weak.

Good stuff all around.

sasman
good left back when i've seen him play, looks like one for the future
Big Man up Front
I think that Olsson has bags of potential and could play left-back or in a left-midfield role. I'm just glad that we've got him committed to us for the time being.
Hughes Da Man
Yeah I just wish he was given a chance instead of Berner against Arsenal. I hope he can progress well ove 2008.
roversman
I wonder if his brother is still available?
BomBom
HIs time will come of that I am sure. He has talent and under Hughes can go far.

roversman - I've been happy to give Berner the benefit of the doubt but again against Arsenal he DIDN'T do anything to convince me, so I also wish Olsson had been given the chance in that Match.
Hughes Da Man
Olsson must definitly be given the nod ahead of berner, seriously we prob would of been better of with no left mid then berner
sasman
lol maybe a bit OTT sas but I get your point!!! lol
MikeyGamst
lol yea tru but still he was shocking
sasman
