Andre Ooijer Injured AGAIN!!!

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes has revealed that Rovers could be without Andre Ooijer for up to a month.

33-year-old Dutch International Ooijer had to limp away from the defeat to Arsenal on Monday with a hamstring problem, so the veteran is ONCE AGAIN looking at a spell on the sidelines. This is a blow to both him and us, but luckily Christopher Samba will be back from his suspension by the time we face Bolton Wanderers.

Hughes told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: "He's been playing excellent, he's got fantastic experience, he's played in huge games all across Europe and that experience comes to the fore.

"Of late he has probably been our outstanding performer and we are disappointed that it looks like we are going to lose him for a number of weeks now.

"We hope it is not too bad with Andre, it is obviously going to take a couple of days before we know the full extent of the injury, I would imagine if it is the hamstring again then it is going to be a minimum of three to four weeks.

"But by the time the game against Bolton comes around Chrissy Samba is available so that softens the blow somewhat
."

With skipper Ryan Nelsen out injured it is just as well Samba will be back by the time we play our next Premier League game or we would be looking at using Aaron Mokoena, or calling up youngster Tony Kane, and he is still to make his Rovers debut, however, he was on the bench against Arsenal on Monday Evening.

Ooijer ISN'T having a lot of luck with injuries is he, as this is the latest in a series for him!!! I'm glad that Samba will be back in time for our next match, as if he wasn't we would be in BIG trouble.

looks like we might have to sign fortune after all, we are sure running out of defenders lol
sasman
We've only got 2 recognised CB's fit now... Youth team here we come I think!!!
MikeyGamst
unfortunate this, he always seems to get injured just when he starts to get a good bit of form going. Him and Zurab have been quite good covering for nelsen and samba, and this hopefully will reinvigorate our side with a bit of competition for places
Big Man up Front
Technically we aren't in an different a position than we were before the Arsenal match if you think about it? Samba might have been suspended, but he was still unavailable, so I just think this means we will see Tony Kane named on the becnh again for the forseeable future, and we MIGHT even see him make his debut?!?!
Hughes Da Man
Shame for you guys!! He's a good Defender!!!
oranje_emu
Nice to see Emu stat padding! some of us have been there before LOL. Is this lad made of tin or what? Personally i like the sound of what Mikey says, would shake the pros up some if we dragged Nolan and Gunning out on a regular basis wouldnt it!
BomBom
It would give the guys who normally play a kick up the back side. Personally I wouldnt feel that uncomfortbale with youth team players playing.
MikeyGamst
Neither would I dude, some need a wake-up call don't they, the condfort zone can bve FAR too comfortable for some can't it!!!
Hughes Da Man
Yeah it certainly can... maybe a bit more of Nolan???
MikeyGamst
It seems as though Kane has moved ahead of him?!?!
Hughes Da Man
Havent seen as much of Kane... I know he gets some solid write ups but has anyone seen him play???
MikeyGamst
we see different junios breaking in all the time, peter, treacy, gally, nolan, ollson, maybe we do have good depth, but do any of these kids really have what it takes to make the full step up. One more thing, when is De Vita gonna get a go
